Description

The UniversalVac 15 has a blow function and given the 1000W of power, it’s a pretty good one. It comes in handy when cleaning a car interior if there are areas the included crevice tool won’t reach. The UniversalVac 15 can be used for dust extraction and comes with the appropriate fitting. Ergonomics and usability The floor-head is basic but effective and comes with two attachments: one for wet spills and one for dry areas. Even without the help of rotating brush bars, the Bosch pulled out animal hair with ease, even those wound deep into the carpet pile. The included floor-head has a removable brush for dry floors and rubber blades for water spillages. Both are mounted on a plastic carrier that clips on and off with ease, so no fiddly sliding the brushes or blades into place. The paper bag needs to be fitted exactly right and it isn't very clear in the instructions. At first I fitted it sitting out a couple of mm and it leaked dirt and fluff, making the secondary "cloth bag" filter dirty after one use. I had a close look and could see the bag has to be pushed over a slight barb around the fitting to snap in place tight. Once that was right, it works great.

The sturdy wheels make it easy to pull around either way, and it’s robust enough to withstand workshop-level abuse. It’s nicely stable, too; we couldn’t get it to tip over with regular pulling and twerking of the hose. In addition, the top handle is centrally placed for an even carrying balance. In addition to the various container volumes, we also offer wet/dry extractors for the different dust categories. Our class L dust extractors are suitable for basic, harmless dust. You should use class M dust extractors for wood dust, as well as dust generated from roughcast, filler, varnish, gypsum, cement and concrete. Finally, you can use our H-class dust extractors wherever there is carcinogenic and pathogenic dust. Please make sure that you follow the currently applicable regulations for the dust classes. i was so impressed I started using it as the regular household vac and there is isn't so fantastic. It is still incredibly powerful despite using only 1000 watts of electricity, so it is very energy efficient. But it doesn't come with a suitable floor nozzle to use on carpets, you can't retract the brush so it is very hard to drag across carpet. The combination of very strong suction and a floor nozzle that grips carpet means it clamps itself to the carpet and you need quite a bit of muscle to move it. I tried using the floor nozzle from my old Miele vac and it fitted the Bosch tubes, and worked very well, gliding easily over the carpet but collecting every bit of dirt. A wet/dry vacuum cleaner can be used for dry vacuuming with or without a bag. For wet applications, the vacuum cleaner is used without a bag. This vac is a little bit more expensive than those metal drum type wet vacs, but it is certainly worth that bit extra. It works really well and feels solid like it will last for ages.Second time around I was more careful, did some homework. the Bosch has a good long hose and a reasonable length cord, the cord could be longer though. It is MUCH quieter than the returned one. Still fairly loud, but not painfully so. It has a good floor nozzle for hard floors and for vacuuming up water. It is very very powerful. It fits together nicely for storage, the hose can be held in place with two elasticated loops when not in use, and the fittings clip in to the base for storage. It comes with an adaptor to fit Bosch power tools so sanding doesn't make such a mess. It might fit other brands of tools, too? This product has been thoughtfully designed and it shows. Although not in any way a lightweight at 6.8kg, this vacuum is far lighter than the advertised 7.6kg. We assume, therefore, that Bosch states the weight with all the accessories on board. Most brands quote weight for the bare cleaner. The excellent onboard storage system makes transportation an easy ride, the wheels are smooth-running and the brakes a nice touch… even if we doubt anyone will use them. Not having to change the filter in-between wet and dry cleaning was an added bonus. Had it not been for the woefully short mains cable and slightly leaky dust bag, the Bosch would have bagged a full five stars. Should I buy the Bosch AdvancedVac 20 Wet And Dry Vacuum?

Overall, the Bosch AdvancedVac 20 is a brilliant wet and dry vacuum, offering well-thought-out features, high build quality and impressive suction. It delivered well in all test areas and does just as well as a lightweight blower, too. As a rule, wet/dry vacuums have a larger capacity and higher suction power than conventional household vacuums. The Buddy has a great name and, like the Karcher WD 3, has a slightly larger capacity than the UniversalVac 15. Buddy also has a bit more power (1200W), so it doesn’t have to work quite as hard. Though it doesn’t come as standard, a special car cleaning kit is available for Buddy. To empty the large 20l capacity bin there’s a handy liquid drain hole on the front. After testing a few wet and dry vacuums, this is the first we’ve seen with a simple screw-fit drain plug that saves you hefting the entire bin. The Bosch has four smooth-running and sturdy wheels that make for easy dragging around and they have handy brakes on them, too. The brake levers are small, but it does stop the machine moving around too much; it will still skid about if tugged too hard, mind.Draper’s 15-litre model is smaller and a lot cheaper than the Bosch. It also comes with a brush attachment. However, the UniversalVac 15 certainly feels more robust and is a lot easier to use when wet vacuuming. With the Draper, you need to remove the cloth filter and fit a foam one.
