And part of the reason for that is b/c Roberts does such a good job of developing Eve and Roarke that you understand why he's a Red Flag, but know that he'd never actually cross that line (even though your brain and statistics tell you otherwise).

Nora Roberts – with truly, very few words – has crafted an intense story, and created two strong, sympathetic, highly readable lovers. Intense and gritty, it’s filled with the usual angst Eve goes through but this is the beginning of her journey.

She then leaks this information to the press, effectively ridding herself of any interference from the Chief. I could put together a very strong argument that Roarke is the main inspiration for Christian Grey (I considered writing a nontraditional review on that vein, but didn't have the patience to follow through).

It's romance/mystery, so if you like a splash of sex with your serial killers, this is the series for you! So, I started this book 4 days ago and now I'm already reading book 4 so you can guess that I loved this, the book and the series so far.

With both the Senator and the police department looking for a quick resolution to the crimes, plus leaks appearing that seem to threaten the case, Dallas is under pressure. I can identify with the fact that she lets work take over her life, and I'm glad that Rourke is there to make that harder for her to do that. In till I started reading this one I hadn’t realize that this is a futuristic series which for me made it even better. What follows is a fast paced, police procedural with further murders and red herrings to muddy the waters. On the plane flight back, she admits to Roarke that her father raped her repeatedly as a child and that she doesn't remember anything beyond being found at age eight in Dallas.
