Description

While his companions felt relieved by the notifications of their stories being shared, Yoo Joonghyuk glared hard at one he received. Kim Dokja’s job as the Oldest Dream is to “dream” and keep his part of the Universe alive, his part being his World he is responsible for as the Oldest Dream. I say World, because there are other Worlds, it was shown multiple times when he stared out the subway and the 4th wall also told him there were other beings like the “Oldest Dream” that watch over their own world. Omniscient reader's viewpoint is about Kim Dokja who once read a book. And that book has always been there for him - and it saved his life. He was the only follower of that book that has over 3100 chapters for 10 years. It's always been there for him, even through his ups and downs in life.

The novel follows the protagonist, Kim Dokja, who finds himself trapped in a story he once read – a story that is rapidly turning into a reality filled with danger, magic, and various fantastical elements. The unique twist in this novel lies in its narrative structure, where Kim Dokja is aware of the events that will unfold due to his prior knowledge of the story. This concept of someone possessing “omniscient” insight into a story offers a fresh perspective on the isekai (alternate world) genre, blending elements of metafiction and self-awareness.

Novel info

I'm loving this story. The characters, the plot, the world-building; everything is breath-taking and extremelly compelling. However, at the same time, everything is starting to feel quite repetitive. And that makes me so sad, because I love the story, but I hated feeling so bored during the last 25 chapters. Friendship and Bonds: The relationships between characters, especially the protagonist and those he interacts with, are central to the story’s emotional depth and character development.

Who would’ve known at the time? Me and this guy, we would actually end up as companions. I hadn’t wanted to admit it but now I had to. The things that hadn’t seemed possible became reality. I was actually going through the scenarios with him. He is often described as looking plain or unappealing by other characters, so much so that he gains the Incarnation modifier "Ugliest King". It is later revealed that his appearance is "censored" for those looking at him. In Dark Castle, Lee Jihye says she cannot remember what he looks like; [1] in the 73rd Demon Realm, when footage of the 73rd Demon King scenario is being shown in the Syswitz Complex, Kim Dokja himself notices that his face is distorted onscreen. [9] This story didn't exist in Ways of Survival. It was a story that never existed before. It was a story that would lead me to the ending I wanted.” Metafiction: The novel’s unique approach to storytelling involves characters being aware of their roles within a narrative, blurring the lines between fiction and reality. Kim Dokja can finally return to his companions after three years, but he's completely oblivious of how Yoo Joonghyuk’s sanity is on its loose end during Kim Dokja's absence. He has a poor directional sense, and often gets lost, particularly in buildings he's visiting for the first time. He has considered getting GPS-like skills (Reading Map or Pathfinding) to remedy this issue before. [29] PD: me tienen podrida los protagonistas separándose todo el tiempo FORROS ¿tanto les cuesta quedarse juntos? la puta que los parió Dokja is killed by the dragon, but ressurected using a skill he gains moments before death. After defeating the dragon he must hunt down the Tyrant King. He has his people write a book he passes off as the Revelation that has equal parts true and false events. The intention is to manipulate its readers into vulnerable positions.
