Description

Before you understand whether to use was or were in an if clause, you must understand what conditional sentences are and how they use if clauses. Bridget von Ascheberg, a princess with a stubborn streak which matches his own and the hidden fire which reduces his own rules to nothing more than ash. She is nothing like he expected and everything that he never knew that he needed. Conditional sentences have at least two clauses : the condition and the consequence. The condition is usually represented by an if clause, a clause beginning with the word if , and sometimes by a when clause. Likewise, unreal conditional sentences represent events that haven’t happened and are unlikely or impossible. I have been looking forward to Sammy and Olivia’s story since they were introduced in If We Ever Meet Again and it was well worth the wait. A steamy second chance/roommate romance from Ana Huang, the New York Times bestselling author of the Kings of Sin and Twisted series

If We Were Perfect is a fantastic ending to the If Love quartet and is as immersive as the first three books in the series. The characters and story are realistic, the romance is steamy and sweet, and the plot is intriguing. I can’t recommend this New Adult series enough and heartily thank Ana Huang for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review. Family conflict, sexual harassment, workplace hypocrisy and meddling family are some things that were touched by the author and blended well together. If you want to read a new version of Jules then this is for you. But when Olivia asks for his help, he couldn’t say no. He could, however, make her regret breaking his heart—as long as he doesn’t do anything foolish, like sneak into her room and kiss her senseless…

Ana’s characterization in the novel is on point, and allows you to get to know each of these characters incredibly well and is some readers’ favorite part of the novel. Their interactions, wordplay, and conversations help bring them fully to life. It is an entertaining, light hearted, funny, and wonderful read that had some readers rolling on the floor laughing, especially at the grandma’s antics. When she’s not reading or writing, Ana is busy daydreaming and scouring Yelp for her next favorite restaurant. As you can imagine, real conditional sentences represent events that have already happened or are likely to happen. In the simple past tense , the verb be is conjugated into either was or were , depending on the subject’s number and person. First-person singular and third-person singular subjects use was , and all others use were . anyways, i’m glad that they worked through it because i honestly loved their friendship in this book!! i’m glad that they decided on being friends before jumping into a relationship!! If you want to use the verb be in an if clause, do you use was or were ? This is a common question in English grammar .

Not in her plan? Losing half her belongings in an apartment flood and being forced to turn to her ex for help. Sammy was incredibly sweet, a true gentleman, but don’t let that fool you because he was also a growly, alpha that knew when it was time to take charge. Olivia had a type A personality, a plan for her life, and hard working but she was also much more than that. She was sassy, funny, sweet which were incredible traits to have considering the wretched woman who raised her. i understand that the way her mother brought her up, olivia would be a little skeptical about it, but in my opinion, she still should’ve been supportive!! Basically, conditional sentences use a cause-and-effect format. If something happens, something else will also happen.

As passion slowly replaces their dislike for each other, Sammy and Olivia discover their past isn't what it seems and their future is anything but certain. Can they overcome their pride and give love a second chance, or is history doomed to repeat itself? Between his bakery and meddling family, Sammy had enough on his plate without bringing the ex he’d never been able to forget into the mix. While navigating the treacheries and intricacies of her brand new role, she also has to hide her desires for a many she cannot have. Her protector and bodyguard. Her ultimate ruin. Forbidden and unexpected, theirs is one love which could destroy a kingdom, not to mention doom them both. But when Olivia asks for his help, he couldn't say no. He could, however, make her regret breaking his heart - as long as he doesn't do anything foolish, like sneak into her room and kiss her senseless . . . Besides writing and reading, she loves to travel, has multiple relationships with fictional boyfriends, and is obsessed with hot chocolate.

With each day, she breaks his defenses down until he gets faced with one truth that he can no longer deny: he swore an oath to keep her safe, however all he wants to do is take her and ruin her. Because she is his. His forbidden fruit and his princess. His every depraved fantasy.

Here, the meaning does change, so it’s an unreal conditional sentence. Saying “when I won the lottery” suggests that it already happened, whereas “if I won the lottery” is strictly hypothetical. About the Book: Words have power. The words that are said are just as impacting as the words that are left unsaid. Ava Chen’s a free spirit trapped by nightmares from a childhood she can’t recall. However despite her busted past, she has never stopped seeing beauty in the world, which includes the heart underneath the icy exterior of a guy she should not want. Her brother’s best friend and her neighbor. Both her savior and her downfall. What happens when the girl gets every little thing she never even asked for, including a new wardrobe, a puppy, and potentially, even true love? Numerous family members infringe upon Olivia and Sammy’s relationship, and though she had a minor role in the story, I adored Sammy’s mother! She is absolutely hysterical. Vivacious, demanding, funny, and pushy, she reminded me of my own mother. It’s obvious how much she loves her son, even though she is a bit meddlesome and overbearing, and she is a wonderful addition to the story.
