Taste” doesn’t follow the ‘typical’ celebrity tell-all memoir and is instead a topical look at Tucci’s passion: food. Losing a beloved family heirloom is a very real personal loss; they're things that cannot ever be replaced or re-created.

I stalked this book almost every day on NetGalley to appear, and when it did, it was already archived. I hope we haven’t seen the end of him and would like to see a Stanley Tucci cocktail book or new recipe book to come out soon. We washed it all down with gallons of milk, orange juice, apple juice, or lemonade (did any of us ever drink water? In this new world, they would birth new generations who had options available to them never thought possible in the poor and corrupt towns of Southern Italy.

We weren’t aware of this book but most definitely want to read it – it’s great that he includes recipes as well. One was sure that new life forms were breeding from the spores that danced on every surface and consequently one’s nostrils and lungs after the first inhale. I don’t know why, but I have always been drawn to northern climes much more so than to warmer parts of the world. I came away with some great recipes, including how to make the perfect dry martini, stirred not shaken.

As we got older, we would make sandwiches of every ilk: tuna salad, bologna and mustard, ham and cheese, liverwurst and red onion, turkey breast and mayo, American cheese and mayo, all on whatever bread was available (sliced white, Italian, bagels, kaiser rolls, etc. He has directed five films and appeared over seventy films, including The Devil Wears Prada, Easy A, The Terminal, and Road to Perdition, as well as more than a dozen plays, on and off Broadway. I was sorry to learn that he had oral cancer — suffered, lost his taste for awhile-but was equally happy to learn he is now cancer-free….
