The next big issue is the rewind knob. It works, but it feels flimsy — like it could fail if there was ever a big more pressure. Take it easy when rewinding the film using the button on the bottom of the camera. Don’t ever force it, of you may end up not being able to rewind the film. If you're a highly attuned analog artist who values dynamic range, near-perfect resolution, or manual settings for better control, then the Sprite 35mm-II and H35 Half-Frame wouldn't be a satisfactory choice as your sole 35mm option.

Kodak Ektar H35 review | Digital Camera World

To use the Kodak Ektar H35 is simple. We load the film as we would any standard 35mm film camera, advance the film manually with the little thumb wheel, look at our subject through the optical viewfinder, and press the shutter button. If we’re indoors or in low-light conditions, we can rotate the control ring surrounding the lens to activate the flash. Once it has drawn sufficient charge from the AAA battery, a flash-ready light illuminates and we are ready to fire.

I love it for portraits and wish I had shot more. A point to remember is that you should use flash if you are not shooting in direct sunlight. This can be hard to remember. But it will make all the difference when shooting pictures of you and your friends. You can look at it as a substitute for disposable cameras. And this will satisfy those who are conscious about wasting disposable plastics.

Kodak Ektar H35 - Review 2022 - PCMag UK

Turning on the flash by adjusting the silver ring around the lens so that you can use Kodak Ektar H35 during days and nights, outdoor and indoor.” You can certainly keep the flash on during the day as well with the Kodak Ektar H35! That’s actually a great way to make sure people’s skin looks best by getting rid of any harsh shadows in the daylight. The flash won’t overexpose the images, since the flash is powered to perfectly expose film between ISO 200 and 400. If I use Fuji X-tra 400 for this camera, would I need to turn off flash when I’m outside? Or would it still turn out okay and not too overexposed if I keep the flash on? Wondering because I’m new to film!!! Reply For 800t, I don’t think it will be possible to take clear night photos with the Kodak Ektar camera — at least not without using flash. The camera has a fixed f/10 lens with an approximately 1/120th shutter speed, meaning even with high speed film pushed to the maximum ISO 3200, you won’t be able to capture anything other than the brightest lights at night. For good night photos, you’ll want a manual 35mm film camera with an f/1.8 lens. Take this example below of me trying to photograph the parakeets in my local park. I wanted a picture showing them in the shady trees on an overcast day. This camera is a great alternative to a disposable camera which will save you money in no time. It’s ideal for travel and day to day life. If you’re a casual shooter then this is the camera for you. Now, with the recent boom in film cameras’ popularity, we have a new edition with the Kodak Ektar H35. And it couldn’t have come at a better time. This reversal of roles, finding scenes to fit the camera rather than making the camera fit the scene, might be a refreshing change of pace for veteran photographers and may provide a unique perspective to newer photographers. And the half-frame format does this too, also by causing a different approach to content. The Ektar H35 is reasonably priced. And it produces the unique aesthetic loads of photographers are looking for. That means this camera is fantastic for architecture and street photography — there won’t be any strange warping around the edges.
