Description

It begins well and Weaver builds a creepy atmosphere but somewhere round about the middle of the book it all becomes an endless cycle of violent confrontations.

The change is wonderfully done, finally giving you a protagonist who is entirely human, and yet, heroic in his own way. It begins to introduce more overtly supernatural elements - which isn't really a problem, in my view - and makes it more apparent that our plucky heroine is not dealing with an I Know What You Did Last Summer revenge scenario. If I had been prepared for the change, I wouldn't have minded it so much, but as it was I was trying to solve the mystery when it seemed like this supernatural deus ex machina changed all the rules.By using the Web site, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by the Terms and Conditions. Chasing the Dead is the first in the series and Raker is hired to find Alex Towne by his mother Mary, although reported dead she confirms, to our finder of lost people, that her son is alive. As soon as I caught the faintest whiff of supernatural I wasn't mad because I wasn't warned about it, I was excited for it to show itself completely and just add to the intensity of the novel. In the hope of saving her daughter from a kidnapper whose origin seems darker than anything she could ever have imagined, Sue will discover just how much trauma and fright the human body is capable of absorbing. I thought it perhaps wouldn't be as good as the other two, as is sometimes the case with a new series, but not in this instance.

David Raker, a former journalist and now a missing persons investigator, who is still mourning for the loss of his beloved wife, is asked to look into disappearance and mysterious death of Alex Towne. Not his best book IMO A good plot with an unexpected twist at the end, but too full of graphic descriptions of gratuitous violence for my liking - I found it uncomfortable reading. We first met Joe Pullman in Napier's 2005 debut, Summer of the Cicada, which opened with him being beaten to a pulp by his father.Seller has stated it will dispatch the item within 1 working day upon receipt of cleared payment - opens in a new window or tab . In a mixture of snow, tears, and blood; Sue has to follow precise instructions given to her by the kidnapper if she ever wants to see her daughter alive again.
