This I now completely, unabashedly agree is one of the greatest series I have watched, well since "Breaking Bad". At the back of the volume are a bundle of 'extras' - including photos, letter-headed paper, a detailed guide to the show, a map of the office, and a host of other titbits. Alas, her success is overshadowed as the other secretaries and executives begin to undermine her authority and question her talent, motives, and determination. The archaic attitudes as to how men and women are expected to behave, and how certain behaviours are deemed acceptable, whether rightly or wrongly, are laugh out loud funny. The bluray set comes with no episode guide or list in either a paper pamphlet or with the episodes listed on the individual discs.

This is a must watch for any ‘Mad Men’ fan and should probably be viewed before breeching the show’s commentaries. However around that is a nicely layered sound design that is intended to create atmosphere rather than draw attention to itself.

The digital transfers are also beautifully handled, avoiding any artefacts, edge enhancement or banding to deliver every gorgeously shot episode and recreate the 1960s perfectly.Best of all, the transfer doesn’t suffer from any distracting noise, banding, or post-production garbage (like DNR or edge enhancement).

I found the actors candid, the directors are production heads interesting, and the entire group to be generally engaging. The show always looked gorgeous and the transfers capture that perfectly, whilst the lossless soundtrack ensures you don't miss a single word of that fantastic dialogue. Note: Our refurbished grades - Pristine, Very Good and Good - are solely based on the cosmetic condition of the phone. For them image is all - lives full of show, emotions so brittle (liver and lungs probably impaired). This is more out of incredulity of the situations that are cleverly portrayed by the brilliant casting.It is a must-have for any fan of the show and a great way for new viewers to experience the brilliance of Mad Men.
