I think the concept of applying biodynamics to everyday life is an interesting one, but most of this material is extremely superficial. In the Yang phase we turn our energy out ward as we impress our will on our reality, manifesting our desires. Some sweet little spells included too, to kick start your spell casting with combinations revealed in this handbook - all the witchy vibes!

This book was very informative : it included drawings and information or the different moon phases , the history/ ancient beliefs of the moon, how to harness the energy of a particular moon phase , how the moon affects us and every day moon magic . An important note is that the methods of connecting to a higher power in this book are a way to become more spirituality connected and are not a religion within its self. I think the one big idea that I would be interested in trying is to find candle holders in a rainbow of colors to use instead of colorful candles…the candleholders could be used with intent just as candles are chosen for their specific color for a specific ritual…and they would be pretty on an altar or anywhere when not being used for magical purposes. Moon Magic is an introduction to working with the phases of the Moon, what they are and how to live in harmony with the lunar year and to utilise all the magical powers it provides. I also learned about candle magic, lunar meals, lunar gardening, eclipses, astrology signs and even what a blue moon is and how to work with it.Ahlquist does a great job of balancing astrology, history, science, meditation, and magical practice. But then, I do not believe there is anything otherworldly about Tarot cards, crystals, or psychics who supposedly channel spirit guides, either. The information about all the above is very conversation, easy to read, and simplistic in it’s description, making it accessible for all readers who are interested in learning more about the moon. As a continuation of the previous phase, the energies present at this time can help you feel more lucid and aware of how your intuition and second natures are developing.

While being sure to include the basics on waxing and waning this author also included references to the uncommon names and the familiar names we're used to seeing in reference to this celestial body. It was exactly what I was looking for as far as knowledge for the phases of the moon, what you can do in each phase, how to enhance the power of the moon. p. 55 She mentions that there is evidence that ancient civilization did a host of ceremonies surrounding the moon. I learned so many new things about our Cosmic Mother including notions of the Moon as masculine, and how people react around the full moon and etc. You will learn how to properly conduct spells using candles and gemstones at exactly the right lunar moment to enhance the flow of power. This sounds odd coming from a digital fiend like me, but if you decide to get this book, get a hard copy.I’m not a very superstitious or spiritual person, but there’s something about using moon energy that truly draws my attention. This book is full of the awe and wisdom of the beautiful Luna that we in the craft love, honour and respect. This book is a beautifully put together book of information about the different stages of the moon, different cultures/historical beliefs and rituals of the moon, and spells. Beautifully designed hardcover with gorgeous imagery throughout that creates a world to get lost in.
