Honestly, if everything by Blake is like this (I mean in terms of writing style, plot development, and character development) then I can't wait to pick up more of her works. A clever and steamy queer romantic comedy about taking chances and accepting love – with all its complications.

Ruby, Claire’s pre-teen daughter, is exactly as endearing and frustrating as you’d expect from a girl of that particular age. Not my favourite trope by any stretch of the imagination, since it just serves to breed miscommunication (another trope I do not like). I liked this book from beginning to end and it made me care enough about the side characters that I genuinely want to read their stories. I'm going to be honest, I was so obsessed with this book that I kind of forgot to take notes so this is a little messy, but just know that this book made me laugh and cry but most of all - smile. Delilah felt as though she was on the edge of something, being someone, and Bright Falls was a soul-sucking pit of despair where she was absolutely no one.

She was one catastrophe away from having to move to New Jersey, and if she ever wanted to break into the ruthless New York City art world, New Jersey wasn't going to cut it. Everyone was just on pointe and you feel completely transported into this small town among this interesting group of characters.

She pulled the phone from her ear and hit the speakerphone button, then checked the date on her calendar app-Saturday, June 2. First of all, can I just say that it makes me so happy to see sapphics finally getting some good, new adult romcoms. A clever and steamy queer romantic comedy about taking chances and accepting love—with all its complications—by debut author Ashley Herring Blake.Blake's well-crafted adult debut Delilah Green Doesn't Care combines everything you could want in a sapphic romance--snark, steam and sweetness--with an intricate exploration of what it means to love someone and how we choose to show it, all spearheaded by its unforgettable protagonist Delilah who you'll simultaneously want to be and be with forever.

The sister’s confrontation and reconciliation moments with Delilah and Astrid lacked emotional punch and true, deep self-reflection. I don't think this would be an issue for the majority of readers, but once I noticed the lack of the word lesbian in a book where the main character is a lesbian, I couldn't stop noticing it. Okay, I’ll give you that Wuthering Heights is the least romantic book in the history of Victorian romances, but Jane Eyre?Is that the one where the douchebag hid his wife away in the attic and then lied about it to the girl he wanted to bang who was, like, half his age? i'm disappointed because i really really loved how to make a wish but this one was a total let down. Delilah Green Doesn’t Care is the dreamy, steamy, utterly satisfying answer to your craving for an outcast-and-former-mean-girl romance. Even when it's a universally beloved new release you really wanted to enjoy and instead just felt kind of meh about, like now.The story also has a really good cast of cool side characters and I can't wait to learn more about them in subsequent books in the series. She plans to breeze in and out, but then she sees Claire Sutherland, one of Astrid’s stuck-up besties, and decides that maybe there’s some fun (and a little retribution) to be had in Bright Falls, after all.
