Coupe Clip is an unlicensed casting resembling a generic vintage coupe. This casting notably has no wheels and can function in a way similar to that of a carabiner or keychain with things clipped onto a loop in the rear. The bare metal treatment really highlights the casting’s gorgeous lines. It reminds me of those old polished metal desk models of airplanes. Also this is another casting by the new designer Sonny Fisher. I made a thread on Count Muscula, another one of his designs here: Despite having no wheels, the 4 rectangles on the underside allow it to slide across my desk easily. First, let’s get the negatives out of the way first. The cynical part of me is saying “Did they really sell 2 pieces of unpainted metal riveted together as a Hot Wheels car?” I completely understand where people are coming from when I’ve heard complaints about it.

For a car with no features (or maybe because of them), it is satisfyingly hefty in hand. I could see using it as a paperweight instead of a keychain.

All in all, I am quite satisfied with this model! It really seems more like a piece of art than a toy. I look forward to seeing what designs they come up with for it in the future. Clip Rod is a car with a big clamp in the top, with the intent to hold money and other types of paper, serving the same purpose as Fast Cash.
