I think that different parts of this book will impact different people, but will nonetheless keep Freddie Mercury prominent at the same time. The interviews used were interspersed with other quotes and writings, and are meant to give a more well rounded view of Freddie Mercury. I think Queen songs are pure escapism, like going to see a good film – after that, people can go away, and go back to their problems. I really enjoyed this book because I could hear Freddie in my mind speaking - it truly is written i his own words.

So, what you need to know about this book is that it is not an autobiography in the usual sense of the world. While the concept of bringing Freddie Mercury’s life to light with only his own words is lovely in theory, I do wish there had been more establishing facts.

Freddie Mercury: A Life, In His Own Words" is the nearest thing to Freddie’s autobiography as it is possible to achieve.Que se puede decir de Queen que no se haya dicho ya, solo se tendría que decir que ¡Dios salve a la reina! It was an easy read though, and I found it extremely interesting to read something from Freddie Mercury's own point of view. It was a good concept I thought, but in execution wasn’t the book I had hoped for as a Freddie Mercury fan. I've read almost all of the biographies out there about Freddie Mercury, and I learned something from each one, but this book is the one that will make you feel like you really got to know the man behind the legend. Freddie Mercury was the most interesting and charming performer I had the bad luck to not see -I was a child when he died-.

Spurred on by their almost uncontrollable ambitious and forthright front man, Queen succeeded in becoming one of the biggest bands on the planet. His rise to fame in the band followed by the media coverage of his lifestyle and finally his tragic passing due to AIDS have been well documented in books, documentaries, and even the film Bohemian Rhapsody. BUT for us he will live on in the music of Queen powered by those that were intimate with him as a band. I look back at myself, and think oh my God, how could I have done that, wearing black nail varnish, the long hair and the make-up.I think the concept and organization of this project warranted some more thought, but ultimately it was an interesting read. I'm just a singer with a song" (o nome de um dos capítulos) é parte da letra da música "In my defense", não de "The great pretender", conforme indica o livro. Overall, this book is an ode to Freddie Mercury that reflects what he said and what he saw in himself. No hay habido éxito que se le compare a Rhapsody, es una obra maestra con tintes de ópera y rock pesado. Some songs I didn't know and had to watch it on YT and to see him on stage or just listening to his wonderful voice, ahh, made me so sad :( I don't think only fans of Queen or Freddie should read this.
