MSTS is not suppported after XP. Open Rails installations will allow users to use MSTS assests on modern operating systems. All TS Controllers hardware products are proudly hand crafted in the UK in small batches. This ensures quality and reliability. Many components where possible are made in the UK. The RailDriver® Desktop Train Cab Controller includes prototypical levers and controls for the ultimate interface to computer-based railroading. An internal bass speaker supplements your existing sound system and adds realistic vibration to the controls. Throttle/Brake handle – The PBC had a Throttle/Brake handle which is typically used as 4 brake notches and upto 7 throttle notches. Door Open buttons– These open doors on all train. Both are required to be pressed at the same time just like in real life for confirmation.

comfortable and efficient editing functions with extensive capabilities, to undo and restore entered data, I still use the XInput solution in TSW2 and TSW3 because controlling throttle and brakes directly is really nice. Also, with the other tools I mentioned in my previous post I can split and remap my hardware levers to the Raildriver axis so that they match 1:1 with the loco I'm driving. For example, the Raildriver has throttle and brake on the same lever which is not the case for all locos like in the BR 185. Yes, it is notched and damped to emulate real world controls. 4 brake notches and 7 power notches. If the train has 4 power notches, like many modern units, then you would ignore the last 3 notches of power. Most things that aren't that basic controls won't work on the controller. Because the word 'consistency' doesn't exist in Train Simulator, every train is set up slightly different in TS and the keyboard controls work in different ways, so don't buy DLC expecting it to work as you expect it to. Also, the controller doesn't have a crosshair like in Train Sim World, so you'll need a mouse to select anything that doesn't have a keyboard command attached to it.

DRA switch rotary switch -Drivers reminder appliance. This is used as an aid for the driver, and cuts the power when turned on. Generic gamepads' like your unofficial one (most likely) will work, but sometimes there might be issues with individual controllers. I'd say that a controller is fine if you don't plan on playing with any 'advanced' content. The trains included by default should be mostly fine, but anything that's more advanced won't work properly. Some advanced content may have simple modes, but I always felt that what was removed made the trains less fun to play, as they usually took away from quite simple features. For example, the Armstrong Powerhouse Class 90's simple mode gets rid of the ability to have day and night headlight configurations, which is annoying, and I think it deactivates some other simple features, as well as the major ones you might not want to deal with when using a controller. TS Classics DLC (that being a lot of older DLC available at low prices because of their simplicity) will work fine, and assuming you don't have TS yet are a good place to learn the game*. They are also quite cheap, which is good. Edit: Note that if you have official Xbox or PlayStation controllers then you obviously don't need to map the gamepad to controller 1 in X360CE because they will work in TSW out of the box. However, if you want to use any of these controllers wirelessly, you will probably need an adapter. Official ones are very expensive, so I usually just use a cable to connect it. The 8BitDo Wireless Adapter is a cheaper alternative to official adapters, but might have issues with individual controllers. If your PC is compatible, I believe it is possible to use an Xbox One/Series X/S controller wirelessly without an adapter.Master Key – The master key works with the majority of trains including AP and JT add-ons, although some DTG trains do not support it. See the compatibility for full support information. It takes a little bit of work and changes (swap keyboard with gamepad) but for me it's 100% worth it. Dovetail Games have said they will support external controllers in a future release of TSW2. When that is ready, the controller should be fully compatible. If you would like to use the PBC with TSW2, please get in touch with Dovetail games requesting they add external controller support.

Firmware is the software, or programming code, inside the PBC itself. This may be updated occasionally to provide new features or improvements. Door close buttons – These only work on trains which allow it, many trains you are not able to manually close the doors. For these cases, you are able to assign the door close button with different functions such as DSD reset, sand, cab light, and more coming soon. Before I start, do you actually have Train Simulator yet or are you planning to get it once you've got your new PC? The PBC comes in two flavours, with or without Horn/PBL lever. There are also 3 different handle options available. Dovetail Games announced they will provide support for external controllers in a future release of TSW2. They are currently working on a programming interface to enable 2-way controller communication similar to TS2020. When this is released we will be working on support as soon as possible. Please get in touch with Dovetail games requesting they add external controller support, as the more requests they receive, they higher the priority it will become for them.
