Description

The finest warriors and longest-serving Veterans among the Deathwing formed the ranks of the Deathwing Companions, each such Deathwing Companion Detachment sworn by the most stringent of oaths to ensure the survival of those officers placed under their charge. Most famous among the Companions were those that had taken a death-blow meant for their charge and survived. Such warriors were gr Terminators and Bikers will make for an expensive list. If you go this route you won’t have many bodies to throw at things. This won’t always be an issue, but can make control of the board more difficult than for some other armies. Bladeguard, Primaris, or Terminator Ancient only: while the bearer is leading a unit, the unit has Feel No Pain 6+

But here your reasonning implies that you've paid for an apoc hence you're comparing a 35pts upgrade and a 5 pts upgrade. It's just not a fair comparison Infantry tend to be slightly cheaper than previous editions, but not by as much – though don’t sleep on Eradicators at just 95pts for 3 Many of their successors have risen to fame, like the bloodthirsty Flesh Tearers. Their Chapter Master, Gabriel Seth, is a great example of the way named successor Chapters work in the new edition – gaining all of the benefits of their parent Chapter’s Detachment but without the ability to mix Epic Heroes. If you wanted to level the playing field a bit, you could bring a Bladeguard Ancient to the squad, with a Pennant of Remembrance, for the 6+ FnP. But, while that improves their OC and makes them even MORE survivable, it puts the squad at 260 points (26% of a 1k list). The Command Squad has an ancient in it, but you cannot give it the Pennant of Remembrance, and if you brought in ANY leaders to the squad, you'd be pushed above the points limit for deepstriking the squad. Which makes you miss on a very useful ability of the Deathwing.

Well, my bad on the cost their, wasn't looking at the codex directly. Also where does it state that Ap2 only strike last when of high strength. Power axes are Ap2, and all they provide is a +1 str bonus. They still strike last. Powerfists, chain fists, and thunderhammers are also all AP2, and they double str, and strike last. Their are a few, and i do mean a few exceptions where an AP2 weapon will strike at initiative, and they are maybe a few special characters, and I don't recall many except for sammaels sword, and the champions weapon. I haven't looked through most of the other codex's recently to see any ap2 weapons that do strike at initative but even still they are rare. High Strength does't mean it has to strike last, it just happens to be that most of the weapons that give high strength do strike last, and they happen to be ap2, because of the fact that they are high str.

It takes great skill on the part of the Deathwing battle-brother to ensure his responsibilities do not clash, for were that to happen, the Deathwatch's entire mission within their assigned sector of the galaxy would be undermined. The Deathwing Terminator models come resplendent in the iconography of the Dark Angels and Space Marines, as well as wing motifs, rivets, searchlights and studs. As well as options for an Apothecary and Champion, and storm bolters, power sword and power fists, there are interesting features such as an under-slung plasma cannon, a censer-featuring halberd of Caliban. The kit includes the eerie-looking miniature of the Watcher in the Dark, which embraces a Perfidious Relic, and stands in a long cloak – out of which pokes a power-armoured foot. This fantastic box set will provide numerous options for the Warhammer 40,000 collector and modeller alike. My use of them has turned from my lynchpin monsters to some kind of a hybrid midfield threat/ deepstrike mind game. 5 man is underwhelming for the points, and I'm worried that when at ten they'll be able to make use of the Apothecary/Ancient, but at nearly a quarter of your points will still be underwhelming. I do like the shields. I think at least a few will be nice for wound allocation. Your opponent has to target you first, so you can always decide the economy of the wound allocation to your benefit.

Dreadnought • Venerable Dreadnought • Contemptor Dreadnought • Redemptor Dreadnought • Mortis Dreadnought And Stobz I'm with ya on the CML. I love the look of the PC but it looks like another edition of sit there and look pretty. And the AC, it's better with Devastating wounds, but l tossing it sustained hits would not have made it fun but not over the top. Still, an improvement is an improvement. For more depth, you can apply a shade like Carroburg Crimson to the red details. Use a fine brush to carefully apply the shade in the recessed areas. This will create shadows and make the red details appear richer. This specialty formation is also found amongst those Space Marine Chapters who are successors of the original I st Legion, which are collectively known as the Unforgiven. if my champion was challenged by an init 5 character or higher, bar a slannesh champion, I would actually be estatic that they challenged, because it means I may lose my champion, but I am not losing my entire squad to the character, and my squad can get to beat up the rest of the unit his character is in. But considering most AP2 weapons are often strike last, that means that my champion will probably get his 2+ save against said I5 challenger, and on the chance that it is an AP2 weapon that strikes at a faster iniative, it most likely wont instant gib my champion, so even if I do fail the save of 5++, i can probably get my FNP roll against it too.
