It had so much potential, the building of characters and points in which it was suspenseful but I was kinda sad that it ended the way it did. Mrs England by Stacey Halls is a gothic mystery set in a grand house in Edwardian Yorkshire where a nanny realises the family holds a dark secret. Yet, she also creates fabulous characters and provides rich historical details that kept me enthralled, on the edge of my seat, and turning pages well past my bedtime. Aha, 20 %: this is where the story will take place, we've met everyone of importance, the mystery is set up; now we're just rolling along until the mid-point reveal.
