As there is no smartphone app with this mower, you do not get notifications if the mower is moved/taken like you do with the WORX range of robotic mowers. What’s Included In The Box? If you have an obstacle on your lawn, you can run the perimeter wire out to, and around the obstacle to tell the L10 where not to mow. Just be sure to run the perimeter wire less than 1cm apart leading out to the obstacle to ensure that the robotic mower ignores this stretch of the wire and mows over it. Generally, most lithium-ion battery-powered models will “give 45-60 mins of cutting time from each full charge, in as little as 30 mins.” Handy, right? Run-time can be determined by the output and power of the battery, also. Some robot mowers even remember where they left off before charging. Rainy days In terms of blade performance, I was very impressed with the LawnMaster L10 which delivers a clean, neat and efficient cut. This is largely thanks to the high quality pivot razor sharp blades; of which there are three that allow for superior precision.

Your lawn will look better. With a robot mower, you can regularly cut the grass and some models mulch the clippings, returning them to the lawn, which provides “nutrients to the growing grass.” Everything is controlled by the app, such as the cutting height and schedule. Plus it gives you handy information such as how much of the grass has been mowed (as a percentage) and how many minutes left to complete it’s current job. All of this machine’s advanced features already warrant a slightly higher price tag, but the fact that it comes with four sets of spare blades makes it even better value for money. Its software will wirelessly update as well, without you having to do anything. As you can see in my video review, the LawnMaster L10 benefits from a PIN system. This means that no unauthorised access to the robotic mower will be possible and makes theft nigh on impossible. The MAMMOTION LUBA AWD 3000 Robotic Lawnmower is unlike anything on the market to date. It looks more like a high-speed RC car than a lawn mower, but hidden beneath the pearl white chassis are some impressive features worth our attention.Buy LawnMaster® products directly from the manufacturer, Cleva. READ NEXT: The best garden sprinkler to keep your grass looking lush LawnMaster L10 review: Is it difficult to set up? The first is PIN protection . They are usually secured with a personal PIN, which will need to be inputted whenever you want to use the device. While someone could still disappear with your lawn mower, it’s nice to know that they won’t be able to use it. The next job is laying the boundary wire. The 150m of wire for this mower comes on a large reel, making it really easy to lay it as you’re walking around your garden. Pegs need to be inserted every 50cm or so to hold the wire down. An alternative would be to bury the wire but this isn’t something that I would recommend doing, at least not until you’ve had the lawnmower running for a while and know that all of your edges and angles are in the right place. I ended up having to adjust my boundary wire a couple of times to account for overly tight corners, which would have been a huge hassle had I initially buried the wire.

It’s been designed for lawns up to 600 m² in size and can conquer gradients up to 35 %. Once set up, it simply gets to work. The instructions are clear and it’s easy to adjust the cutting height. Choose from heights ranging from 20 mm to 60 mm.Another is that their installation can be complex. Wifi connectivity, boundary wires and charging bases aren’t something that need considering with a traditional lawn mower, but if you want to make the most of your robot lawn mower, you’re going to want to understand every part of it. Limited battery life. This is another gripe we have with these mowers. As they are powered by batteries, they need charging, so a sweep of a larger lawn may take a little longer than expected. What to read next: Mowing this consistently can improve the density of your lawn, and most robot mowers won’t leave streaks or marks across your lawn. The result? An enviable lawn every day of the week! It’s clear to see that the lawn mower has been thoughtfully designed. It’s compact and sleek, with an 18cm cutting width . It offers height settings of 20-50mm , and this can be easily adjusted via a dial on the side of the unit. It boasts a simple LED screen too, which, in my opinion, makes it easier to use than screen-less models. If you plan on running this lawnmower on a lawn that’s used by young children or pets, you have nothing to worry about – its safety features are fantastic . The blades stop running if the lawnmower is lifted or tilted and, if the mower does happen to run into you, the bump is extremely gentle and won’t cause any pain. The fact that you need to enter a pin code before you can actually do anything with the mower helps to keep it safe from thieves too.

This lawnmower’s features aren’t quite as cutting-edge as some of the others out there, but they’re still customisable enough to provide more than just the basics: Simple Keypad

Robot lawn mowers aren’t cheap, and you want to be sure that they don’t go missing! The Swift RM18 28V Robotic Lawnmower is a great choice if you’ve got an exposed garden and are worried about passers-by making off with your new tool. It’s equipped with a PIN code and alarm to deter thieves. With so many different robot lawn mowers on the market today, how do you decide which is the right model for you? While there are more sophisticated robot lawn mowers like the WORX range, for example, the LawnMaster L10 is a simplistic version that still does an amazing job of cutting the lawn! I ran the two side by side on my own lawn and the results were very similar. So if it’s simplicity you’re after then I’d say go for the LawnMaster L10, without a doubt. It works instead using the attached camera and ultrasonic sensors which detect obstacles, including moving obstacles like pets! The child safety key prevents children from tampering with it, while the blades automatically stop running when the unit is lifted.

I have to say, the LUBA wasn’t bad at all. There aren’t that many parts to the charging station, and the mower comes pre-built (thankfully!). What I would say though, is that the instructions could be worded a bit clearer and there should be a greater emphasis on the charging station being close enough to your house so sync it up with the WiFi. Otherwise though, it was all pretty straightforward and we were up and running in about 40 minutes. Let’s face it, robot lawn mowers are costly, and the last thing you want is for it to get stolen! But if you’re out at work or relaxing inside during the day, you want to be sure a passer-by isn’t going to help themselves to your new tool. Take a look at the following advice to help you find the best robot lawn mower for your garden. How do Robotic Lawn Mowers Work? You begin by positioning the base station. At this point, I also plugged it in so that the lawnmower could start charging while I set everything else up.The warranty is only for a year but they could sell me a new power head but initially didn't know when they were going to get them. I try to repair things for environmental reasons so asked for the part number on the PCB that I suspected was faulty because it had no markings on it. The best they could do was send me a whole PCB from a returned working unit but they didn't know when that would be. I repeated that I just wanted the part number and then Aimee got a bit stroppy and pointed out how helpful they had been up until this point and that the matter was now closed. Robot mowers are designed to make short, regular cuts . They remove just the top of the grass blade each time, and don’t allow the grass to get so long. Because of this, your lawn will always look neat and tidy. You’ll likely never even notice that it needs a mow! The LawnMaster L10 is an incredibly versatile little robot machine and offers several features that ensure mowing is effective and reliable. All you need to do is charge the battery (using the fast 1 hour charger provided), and put the mower on the lawn once or twice a week during the day time. It can only be used on dry days, and it does need to be manually placed on the lawn, but once down it’ll mow in a random pattern for up to 4 hours, until the entire lawn has been mowed. For a neater finish, use the spot cut function on any uncut grass. Compared to petrol mowers, robot lawn mowers are better for the environment. They don’t emit any fumes and they can be started with the push of a button. This also means they are a lot quieter , with many people choosing to set their mowing schedule for overnight.
