What is with those lawyers?? Aren’t they supposed to at least pretend to believe their clients? If this is how the military “helps” their own, god help ‘em. No due process. No investigations. Makes ya wonder how closely or fantastical this is to real life...scary…

In the spellbinding new mystery by the master of “the clever twist,” a group of ex-RAF comrades journey to a Scottish castle for a reunion. But by the time they reach their destination, two of them are dead.It tells the story of a group of RAF comrades from national service who meet up again at a reunion in a scottish castle, where they escaped punishment if they agreed to go on an education program from a series of minor crimes committed. The ending is as always unpredictable and fitting for the last novel in a series, maybe a little to much happy ending for our main characters, for my taste. Brilliant . . . Child never, ever slips. He keeps the action cranking better than anyone, but, best of all, he keeps us guessing about Reacher." -- Booklist (starred review) The story takes place in the present, but we see flashes of the past as Harry uncovers fragments of his memories. These lead him to question his fellow soldiers and their families. He doesn’t understand what he’s discovering, and he can’t quite believe it. The police don’t believe him either. Combining an intricate puzzle of a plot and an exciting chase for truth and justice, Lee Child puts Reacher through his paces—and makes him question who he is, what he’s done, and the very future of his untethered life on the open road.

Another sweltering month in Charlotte, another boatload of mysteries past and present for overworked, overstressed forensic anthropologist Temperance Brennan. FilmL.A. (May 23, 2017). "2016 Feature Film Study" (PDF). FilmL.A. Feature Film Study: 21. Archived (PDF) from the original on July 31, 2017 . Retrieved May 3, 2018.It’s pure Reacher after they throw him in jail. It’s not where he wants to be, and not where he wants Susan. So, just like that...they’re gone. Moorcroft, is later beaten to death by the Hunter, an ex- SOCOM operator-turned mercenary who frames Reacher for the murder. Reacher is arrested and transported to the prison where Turner is being detained. When two hitmen arrive, he neutralizes them, then escapes with Turner. They go to Morgan's, having deduced he is involved in the conspiracy. The Hunter later kills Morgan and again frames Reacher. Yep, you can imagine how Goddard runs with this but cleverly holds out on the nature of the experiment till the end. Harry is not as fast or as fit as he used to be, but he still has his wits about him and later an irascible companion from two earlier books. Lee has three homes—an apartment in Manhattan, a country house in the south of France, and whatever airplane cabin he happens to be in while traveling between the two. In the US he drives a supercharged Jaguar, which was built in Jaguar's Browns Lane plant, thirty yards from the hospital in which he was born. I hate to say it … but after 18 books, Reacher is starting to suffer from the Spenser Syndrome: a great character that is becoming redundant.

I do not love the ending. Yeah, it was justice, but why would they do this? They’ve pulled so much else together, why do they just give up?Janet Maslin, writing in The New York Times, stated that the book "may be the best desert island reading in the series. It's exceptionally well plotted. And full of wild surprises. And wise about Reacher's peculiar nature. And positively Bunyanesque in its admiring contributions to Reacher lore." [3] Film adaptation [ edit ] Reacher fights, aiming to find Turner and clear his name, barely a step ahead of the army, and the FBI, and the D.C. Metro police, and four unidentified thugs. The third and last installment in the Harry Barnet trilogy delivers the same solid crime/murder mystery as the previous books.
