Description

Grandma yelled at George, saying that he forgot her and her medicine. Not only did she yell at George about "forgetting" her, but also about him doing it on purpose, and threatening to tell his mother. At some point in her life, Grandma became Mrs. Kranky's mother. She also started living in the Kranky Family House. Grandma asked George what he was doing, to which he responded nothing. However, Grandma had her suspicions and said that he was rattling the pots and pans.

George's Marvelous Medicine study guide contains a biography of Roald Dahl, literature essays, quiz questions, major themes, characters, and a full summary and analysis. We are really excited to be working with Puffin to celebrate the publication of a new companion book for Roald Dahl’s George’s Marvellous Medicine: George’s Marvellous Experiments. The book features a series of hands-on fun activities for children, teachers and families inspired by everyone’s favourite serendipitous scientist, George Kranky.

Left with an ungrateful and rude grandma he decides to start a new medicine to make her less rude and mean. He mixes, shoe polish, jujube fruit juice, some spices, toothpaste, and engine oil. He then boils it and puts it in his grandma's medicine. They try it again, but it does not turn out like the first batch did, it only grew the leg. They give the grandma another batch of the medicine and it makes her shrink to the point that no one can see the mean old grumpy lady. Update this section! On more than one occasion, George had described her as a grizzly old grunion of a grandma. He also described her as selfish and grumpy and a miserable old grouch. She was not like usual grandmothers, who were lovely, kind, and helpful. Grandma spent each and every day sitting in her chair by the window, complaining, grousing, grouching, grumbling, and griping about one thing or another. She cared only about herself. Grandma also acted differently around George's parents. She only began treating him badly when he was alone with her. She was also quite peculiar, liking to eat insects. The last straw was when she frightened George by implying she was a witch with extraordinary powers.Grandma was angry at her family for not serving her breakfast and not bringing her her tea, and that led to her demise. She mistook the cup of medicine in George's hand for tea, and she drank it up. The moment the drink touched her lips, she began shrinking. Mrs. Kranky asked her how she felt, and she shouted at her, asking her how'd she'd feel if she had been a "glorious" giant and was now a miserable midget. Eventually, she shrank so much that she was microscopic.
