I loved reading her journey, at times shocking, others times subtle, as a reader I had mixed feelings towards her. I imagine the Sheriff walking all through the [shoe company] headquarters looking for her and everyone whispering and wondering.

Suing her for a modest amount is enough to piss her off, to exert some control, to win a tiny bit of power back if she decides to pay it. I find telling people the truth, asking for evidence, or generally behaving like an adult, causes so much offence that it's laughable (not really a bit tragic) Anyway, if what we say is bullying and abusive, then I'm a proud bullying and abusive person. Every time I feel fear and apprehension creep into my chest, I remember what she did, take myself to an angry place, and I feel better. And sexing her ex-con first love will ensure his help—and keep her hot and satisfied through those lonely grieving nights .The book really lends itself to an audio book as it is mainly an woman's journal - which works well being read out loud. Sally’s romance with Clive unspools in her recollections of their collaborations, their intimacies, their secrets and lies.

Whilst this was hard to read in parts it was hard to put down, understanding just how Clive managed to get Sally to that state, by manipulation and his actions was quite an insight. I am sure that we have all been the victim of unrequited love at some point in our lives, I know I certainly have, but Ms Cohen sums up how this feels so perfectly; the sadness, despair, frustration and anger you feel towards the object of your affection at some point. My circumstances are similar to yours (husband got into a flirty friendship with colleague which led to them kissing) and it's really hard.It is hard for the reader to witness the destruction to those around her, and Sally, whilst she is oblivious.

How do differences in wealth, professional reputation, and social status play out in Sally’s relationship with Clive? Clive has moved on, Sally just can't let go and this is her story, of her fall from a loving mum, wife and career woman to one who is fully obsessed with her ex and her world is crumbling around her. I will never stop wishing that I’ll wake up to a news story about this woman being — — — — by a — — — and — — . I am ashamed to admit I did that (I had finally broken the habit) but after doing so, I had to finish the book to see how the ending came about. With a title like The Mistress's Revenge, I really wasn't sure what to expect - the title reminds me of the pile of Mills and Boons that my Mum would have stacked by her bed when I was growing up. It had that “sent from my iPhone” tag along the bottom and I imagined you barricaded in your master bath, running the cold tap in the sink to cover the tapping of the keyboard. I have had friends who did this, and they lived happily ever after watching the new wife constantly terrified that her husband had a mistress turn into a shrew!

I knew that you’d eat in your gleaming double-height glass-roofed kitchen, sitting around the blond wood square table where Daniel and I enjoyed several dinner parties—so strange to think of it now. It didn't matter that her affair overlapped her relationship with Daniel, or that Clive was a married man with children. Sally builds up to tracking Clive's children and his wife as covertly as possible including checking their facebook status updates constantly. A situation or circumstance to use to try and draw Clive back to her or have contact with him in anyway she can.

Billed as "fiery, passionate, [and] engrossing" I couldn't help but think this would be a fast paced provocative read about a mistress who takes revenge on the man with whom she had an illicit affair. She has an affair with a married man with three children - while she was living for several years with her two children and their father. Our relationship would never have got off the ground if we’d had ‘proper’ jobs,” you often said, making the phrase “proper jobs” sound like something black and slimy you’d found in your salad. You’d laughed along with everyone else, even though one sensed you’d heard this speech a hundred times before. You can publish under Public Announcements: and add for warning; happily married wives stay away from the likes of the Missy, who is prone to fornicating without a license (a marriage licenses that is) and violating other's licenses.
