Installation The Tesla thermostat is designed to replace thermostats that connect to the heater with two spade connectors. Until that time, if the thermostat is being bypassed, as Happy B says above, do not use it. You and your family are in danger. The t-smart performs the same function as the existing timer, so you’ll need to make sure you can bypass it either through re-wiring or by some kind of manual override mode (mine didn’t have this so had to rewire). This repository provides a custom component for enabling a Tesla T-Smart immersion heater thermostat to be used with Home Assistant.

Copy (or link) the custom_components/t_smart/ directory from this repository into your configuration/custom_components/ directory.

Discovery Flow (not needed if you already know its IP). Really simple, sends broadcast and listens for responses just so you can get the IP. This sends the correct commands to the tsmart based on a HA input_select value then sends a control read message 5 seconds later so that the HA sensor updates. This upgrade will give the home owner complete control remotely over their hot water when its needed via the app

Product Options

The Tesla system is deisgned for immersions that are horizontally set into the tank (as found in unvented cylinders, like the Megaflo). Is your immersion horizontally set in to the tank? Dont bother looking, the answer is NO. https://www.tsmart.co.uk/ says that this option is "coming soon". You may need to change the element as well as the thermostat, but right at the moment you cant do anything except get your existing set up sorted by someone competent.
