Perhaps the tv drama was based on a later book but, although the writing was accomplished and professional, I wasn't enchanted by the story. Saw this get a number of bad reviews on other sites but I genuinely don't think it's as bad as people say it is. Our heroines are soon inexorably entwined in this supreme intergenerational conflict — and besides that, have to deal with the disorienting personal consequences of themselves randomly being transported back and forth in time. You’re left hungry for more, but in the best way possible, as the book manages the balancing act between interconnected prequel and standalone story.
