It's very long, very confusing, and definitely not for everyone -- but love it or hate it, it's hard not to respect Beau Is Afraid's ambition. But various bizarre events conspire against him; he misses his plane and must now journey overland – and travel inward into his mind to make a reckoning with what this overbearing woman has done to him.You get a pretty stark taste of this in the trailer below, which gets is pretty grim at times, despite its lighter notes. Try and remember the story the next day and you’ll only pick out the images and sounds that burrowed into your head. He has an air ticket to visit his mother on the anniversary of his father’s death – a prospect that cranks his anxiety levels up to 11.
