Description

thayer is the new grumpy neighbor of salem who’s in his early 30s and on top of that a single dad to his 6 year old son. when salem breaks trough his walls we can see him being extremely protective and sweet to her i was swooning the whole time. that man made her, her own personal gym in his basement and fired someone for talking disrespectful to her. double swoon. he was so adorable and them being all domestic and shit with little forrest was so wholesome. I love grumpy people and Thayer was very lovable in almost an Eeyore kind of way. He couldn’t have given Salem a more apt pet name in Sunshine because she never gave up, she walked under all of his rain clouds. There might be nothing sweeter or more emotional than this little girl talking to her brother’s grave. My guy then goes on to say, "I'm not bright like you, but I promise, when your days are dark, I'll be your light." 😭😭❤️ From that moment I couldn't care less about the couple, I just kept reading because I hate giving up the book (I learned my mistake). I didn't feel their passion, everything happened absurdly fast, and the heroin started to irritate me more and more.

I love Caleb and I hope that he will have his own book in the future because he is one of the sweetest human beings ever. I cannot wait to see Salem and Thayer’s story continue in the next book. And I hope we get to see some of Thayer’s POV. Extremely traumatic, life-altering issues that seem glossed over. They are there to create tension and drama but are handled poorly by the author. There are a handful of authors that I know can balance such heavy topics - make them integral to the story and characterization - but leave me feeling hopeful in the end. The writing is not the best…it’s very jumpy. It gets’ better but there could be improvement. Also, I was scared because I felt like all type of cliches in age gap romance will be thrown here and it has so many tropes that I feel that is hard not to put the traditional cliche of the tropes if that makes sense. That vibe was definitely there.

The Confidence of Wildflowers Book PDF Summary

The heroine was immature with little to no growth. The endless trauma was added one on top of another so this read like poorly written literary fiction tragedy porn. The pacing was abysmally slow. And there was no layered build up of emotion only the unnecessary and heavy handed use of throwing in every possible tragic scenario to FORCE some kind of emotion out of the reader because the writing alone could not do it. I don't really know what the author was trying to accomplish with this story because literally nothing happened until the last tragic event that caused the third act break up. The last 10% of the book… Um… I don’t know what to say! That was heartbreaking but leaving you with a huge bomb at the end… the f? Like it felt like too much maybe save the other stuff in the other book. That last thing felt rush like it could have easily left with the most heartbreaking ever and then start with something like that… but man that is not fair. I get why people don’t like it, I think that’s fine. It’s definitely not for everyone.

Salem faults Thayer for not reaching out to her but why tf would he do that when he was fixing himself and knowing she was married A YEAR after their fallout (she gave him no time to heal) The beginning was very slow. The real story truly starts at like 30% mark, other than that you just get to know Salem a little bit better.tropes: grumpy x sunshine, single dad, one bed + nightmare trope, age gap (13-14 years), employee x boss vibes bc she’s sometimes babysitting his son, cheating & small town. Loving Thayer isn’t a choice. It just is. Loving him is natural, automatic, just like my body’s need to breathe air.”

One of the strengths of The Confidence of Wildflowers is Micalea Smeltzer’s ability to craft characters who resonate deeply with the reader. Salem, our fearless protagonist, possesses an old soul wrapped in a youthful exterior. Her resilience and optimism shine through as she faces life’s challenges head-on. It’s impossible not to root for her as she discovers the power of unconditional love and gains confidence in the path she’s chosen. Salem’s character journey is both heartwarming and inspiring. what was the point of marrying him????? I can see the need for the time jump. And not telling him above seda. But why marry him??? KNOWING you love another man more. If I’m be honest, this story didn’t go at all how I thought it would. Book one ended in so much heartbreak, and book 2 fixes all of that. This story focus’ more on the growth of the characters. Seeing the characters finally get to be happy. There are still some triggers in book 2 but not nearly as heartbreaking. Their chemistry is sizzling 🥵🥵🥵 Yes the spice is pretty good. So if you just want to read it for that purpose and the sexual tension you won't be disappointed. The two connect so well and honestly I love seeing them together.A heartbreakingly beautiful read. I cried so much towards the end.😭😭 Kudos to the author for being a heart breaker. Who we used to be doesn’t matter, it’s who we are now, what’s in our hearts that matters most. You’re sunshine, Salem, but even the sun doesn’t always shine.” There was no point of this book, it could've easily been an epilogue in the first one. It honestly felt like the author didn't have any heart in writing this. It's so mediocre.

made a home gym for salem to work out in, so she wouldn't go out for late-night runs by herself! (he also ran with her at first)By the end of book one I was in desperate need of answers, so the minute I could get my hands on this book I devoured every word. Micalea Smeltzer’s The Confidence of Wildflowers is a tale of unexpected love, age-gap romance, and the tumultuous journey of two souls finding solace in each other’s company. As I sat down to review this book, I realized that it left me with a whirlwind of emotions, making it challenging to distill my thoughts into a coherent review. This book is an intricate dance between heartache and hope, and it’s one that I won’t soon forget.
