Description

Jase is the new leader of the Ballenger empire. They have always governed by their own rules as outlaws. Unsure whether the other is alive or dead, Kazi and Jase must keep their wits among their greatest enemies and unlikeliest allies. And all the while, Death watches and waits. This books character development and world building was amazing. Mary E. Pearson created such a rich world and just put the world building in there effortlessly. Usually in fantasy series I have a hard time getting into the book because there’s always world building at the beginning but this book just slipped it in there and I didn’t even notice. Mary E. Pearsons writing is flawless in my opinion. I had seen the urgency in the queen’s eyes. I had heard it in her voice. This wasn’t only about the past. She feared for the future. Something was brewing, and she was desperate to stop it.

Dances of thieves es el inicio de una bilogía que si bien es lenta, no es tan de fantasía y tiene un romance que a mi parecer le ha faltado más, también tiene una ambientación que me encanta y unos personajes que me han dado justo en todas las debilidades.

Customer reviews

Somewhere in the first 30% of the book she thinks smth like "I'm calm. I am good at keeping myself calm, not showing emotions, nothing can surprise me, I'll keep a calm mask no matter what, like I always do"

This series really impressed me and blew away all my original expectations! Seriously, sooo much better than The Remnant Chronicles! stars!!! As always, I think that it’s important to point out that Mary E. Pearson is the most underrated author in YA fantasy. And for the life of me, I can’t understand why that is! Her world-building, character development, and plot progression abilities are superb! This was supposed to be a buddy read with Diana, but she went POOF, so...¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I know,” Natiya said, putting her hand up to stop Synové from embarking on a long explanation. “Fine. Just remember, spend some time at the settlement first. Hell’s Mouth comes after. Only ask questions. Gather information. Get what supplies you need. Keep a low profile until we get there.”Kazi and Jase's love for each other is so real and pure, and I want that so much. When Jase yelled that Kazi was his wife, I placed the book down and rolled all over my bed, I COULDN'T EVEN HANDLE IT. Jase and Kazi are so protective over each other, and when Jase was with Kazi in a certain moment, he almost made me cry because he was so protective over her, but they weren't happy tears. Just letting you know. If it's possible, it may have been even BETTER than the first book, Dance of Thieves. I don't think it's possible to feel so many ways at once; I FEEL LIKE MY HEART IS BEING TORN INTO A THOUSAND DIRECTIONS, BUT LEMME TELL YOU, PEEPS: THIS BOOK WAS AMAZING. In the words of Mustafier, absolutely splendiferous. The enemies - lovers - enemies - lovers - enemies - lovers trope should have become tiresome but instead it was so carefully plotted and interwoven with the books political storyline that it felt integral to the book and very well done. The novel is so focused on Kazi and Jase, however, that it relegates most of its supporting cast to brief mentions and broad stereotypes. Kazi’s fellow Rahtan warriors and Jase’s sisters would have been particularly interesting to spend more time with. (Maybe we can see more of them in the sequel?) The setting is so detailed Wonderfully deceptive, creatively written and perfectly layered that had my head twirling as many of the steps / subplots threw me off balance. Another great shimmy with Fantasy and a story for (mostly) everyone.

Choose your words carefully, even the words you think, because they become seeds, and seeds become history.”Paxton are u my fav character????He is definitely in the top with Jase. why do I love ehim? Oh bcz he is a cinnamon roll<3 The words lingered in the air, each one a shimmering spirit, cold whispers of caution, but I wasn’t afraid. Pearson is a gifted storyteller and spinner of eminently satisfying romances and fantasy." — Publishers Weekly Never at any point did I really care a lot about the characters. I liked them but, it’s hard to explain, not that much? The Dance of Thieves series was written after the Remnant Chronicles but is a separate series set in the kingdoms of the Remnant. You can read it independently or read it after the Remnant series. What is the Dance of Thieves Series Age Rating?

I absolutely love this duology and Mary E. Pearson just knows how to write good endings!! Especially in this book here! Kazi discovers Wren and Synové at Hell’s Mouth and convinces Jase to lodge them and stop tailing her. She looks for Illarion at Tor’s Watch, while Jase meets with Garvin, Kazi’s tail, who is attempting to remember her prior identity. Kazi gets bitten by the venomous dogs of the Ballengers, but she hides it from Jase until she loses consciousness. Jase is perplexed as to what she was doing. He shows her the family vault, which she says she was seeking for and which indicates his ancestors created the continent’s first empire.I also stayed up past midnight to finish this book, something I've never done before, and I'm glad this book was the book, despite the fact that I was very SAD when this book was over.
