One of the worst things about NERF blasting is the constant need to reload and the all too familiar moment of horror when you realize you have jumped headfirst into a battle with no darts left in the chamber. The NERF Doomlands 2169 Double Dealer blaster is here to help. We’re not sure why but for some reason we really like the NERF Doomlands 2169 Lawbringer blaster. It may be that is reminds us of Judge Dredd or that it can fire up to 12 darts before reloading, either way, we love it!

This is a non-slam fire spring blaster, so you are never going to keep up with a flywheeler, but with a bit of practice at fan-firing, cowboy style, you can get a pretty decent rate of fire.Starting from the front of this blaster at the stubby muzzle, you will find a sling point, however, it does not have an N-Strike attachment so you cannot put on barrel extensions. This is not much of a surprise as this is not an N-Strike blaster, and the 2169 Doomlands range has a different aesthetic. The Impact Zone sub-series features blasters with a more futuristic design compared to standard Doomlands blasters.

Hammer-action priming means no batteries required and it can be primed one-handed, great for games like capture the flag where you could use a spare hand. The grip itself is large enough for a large hand like mine but also works well for smaller hands too – it makes me wonder why NERF don’t do more grips like this rather than squashing things up as they’ve done with the Hyperfire. Other than that, some people just don’t like this priming style. So if you are one of those, I wouldn’t buy a Lawbringer!

This blaster is as simple and practical as you can get – there are no batteries needed, you just stuff the darts in, prime it and you are ready to fire. Sure magazines will carry more ammo per load, but when it comes time to reload and you don’t have any extra mags this will be the blaster you want. One thing to keep in mind is that the Persuader fires from top to bottom so make sure that you adjust your aim as you blast. Another cool feature of the Doomlands Persuader is that it features a transparent cover over the firing mechanism. If you have ever wondered about the inner workings of your blaster now you can take a look and keep unleashing dart mayhem in the process. The series also has a YouTube mini-series that follow the story the products represent, revolving around a main protagonist named "the Doomlander".

You have also got 12 rounds to play with, double most blasters of this style, so it can do a pretty good job of covering fire when needed. Accuracy and Range The Doomlands series was originally known as Badlands during development, evident from images of the Lawbringer prototype. [1] The Doomlands 2169 series is themed after a post-apoctalyptic future set in the year 2169, hence the name. The official plot explains that, after Earth was hit by a deadly asteroid, life and civilization begins anew, and survivors must fend off raiders and new monstrous creatures. Its blasters feature a more modern and futuristic design, with clear parts (similar to the Clear Series) that show the firing mechanisms of the blasters. One of the things we love about the NERF Doomlands 2169 blasters are the names. Hasbro obviously took some artistic license thinking these bad boys up and the Persuader blaster is no different. The Doomlands Double Dealer is an absolute pleasure to use. Load up your two 12 darts clips and “pump” the slam-action action primer and you are ready to play and oh, did we mention that it fires two darts at a time! The clips are spring-loaded so with each shot and pump 2 new darts will be pushed into the chamber.Another nice touch is that the shell is transparent, so when you operate the priming mechanism you can see it all operate which is very cool. Incredibly good fun and comfortable to use, it feels like shooting a sawn-off shotgun from the hip! You can partially re-load the large 12 round drum as it is front loading, so it is operational as soon as a single round is loaded. The trigger action is also just like any other spring powered blaster, with good feel and an easy pull. Rate of Fire It's never too late to be a kid. Sure, technically it is, but that's your adult brain at work. With the right state of imagination and a few helpful tools, you can relive your youth.

The Lawbringer appeared in 2015 as part of the 2169 Doomlands range. While it does not say “Elite” anywhere on it, the Doomlands 2169 range is made to the same internal specifications as the Elite N-Strike blasters. This means the power and range should be similar, just with a post-apocalyptic edge rather than the sci-fi styling of the N-Strike Elite range. The addition of a transparent window into the firing mechanism is a nice touch but doesn’t add anything to the actual blasting experience so is purely aesthetic (but it is quite cool to see what is going on inside…). So overall opinion of the Lawbringer is that it is a whole lot of fun and in some wars, this will make an ideal weapon of choice. It is definitely worth your consideration. round drum gives you a good capacity and ability to partially reload make it a good blaster for games that require a lot of scrabbling around for ammo. However it is too large to realistically be slung as a secondary blaster, but has no magazines or slam-fire to make it an obvious primary weapon.

Factsheet

The Double Dealer has an insane 24 dart capacity thanks to the inclusion of two, horizontally loaded, clips meaning you can keep blasting for longer! The iconic Doomlands transparent window inclusion also massively helps out on the Double Dealer, each clip is transparent meaning you can see how many darts you have left (it is also pretty cool to see your clip deplete as you deliver justice across the field). In June of 2015, numerous Nerf blogs reported leaked information about a new blaster - the Vagabond. Initially, it was thought to be a Zombie Strike blaster. However, after some speculation, it was figured out that it could be the first of a new line of blasters. After asking Hasbro and receiving no response, a Gizmodo article [2] shared official information about the line, being followed by Hasbro.
