Wait, you say the Hasbro version is the slavishly 'toon-accurate one? Your credibility is on shaky ground, Wiki. The second Universe Starscream toy is a redeco of Classics Starscream, with a considerably lighter gray base color, more vibrant red paint, his face painted in dark gray compared to Classics Starscream's flat gray plastic color for the face and a deco more faithful to Starscream's original Generation 1 toy, very similar to the Henkei! Henkei! release.

Most (if not, all) copies of the figure had the lower right leg's sculpted details being too slightly shallow compared to the left leg's. War For Cybertron: Kingdom is a subline imprint of the Generations toyline, and the final portion of the War for Cybertron Trilogy.I do prefer the proportions of the forearms (but ER has better proportions to the shoulders and biceps) and the hips are way better. I don't know why they did that stupid flappy skirt on ER. Starscream is armed with a pair of missile launchers that mount on his arms in robot mode, and under his wings in jet mode, with a pair of specialized projectiles for each. In jet mode, two short " cluster bomb" projectiles are fitted into the launchers to make them resemble the drop tanks a real F-15 carries, while in robot mode, they are replaced with the long barrels of Starscream's null-rays. The original Diaclone version of the mold featured spring-loaded firing mechanisms in these launchers; while this feature was removed for the Hasbro release of the toy, it was left intact for the Takara version, and all subsequent reissues. Look, I’m not here to explain who Galvatron is to you. He’s Megatron from the future after he’s given a new body by Unicron, right? The Transformers: The Movie is the only Transformers media that was available in stores for, like, a decade. Folks know their Galvatron. But let’s poke at the corners of what he brings us in Earthrise, OK? Includes Transformers Generations War for Cybertron: Earthrise Voyager Starscream figure, 2 accessories, and instructions.

In terms of transformation, I like the Seeker version better. Just feels smoother, and while I get the shellformer criticism, it doesn't feel like it while I am transforming it. It also avoids the egregious sin of BW and RiD shellformers in which you have random kibble hanging everywhere. The nose cone, wings, and thrusters are incorporated into the robot mode in an aesthetically pleasing way. A planned-but-more-or-less-canceled redeco of Generation 2 Dreadwing, "Advanced Tactical Bomber" Megatron would have come with Starscream, a redeco of Dreadwing's partner Smokescreen. The pair can combine into the "flying wing" Advanced Tactical Bomber, while Starscream can detach to become a smaller solo jet, leaving Megatron to transform into a treaded tank mode. According the Toy Fair 1995 Transformers presentation, the toy's missiles are intended to glow in the dark. The figure is reported to suffer from heavy quality control issues, most commonly mentioned are the joints and hinges being incredibly weak. As a result, Starscream's wings are difficult to keep in place in robot mode. The elbows, which previously snapped into place when articulated, now slide freely, and the entire hip joint system can be shifted out of alignment. The Diaclone version of the Starscream mold featured tailfins with solid tips and solid fists, and both these features carried over to the earliest Transformers releases. Soon, however, the Transformers mold was modified to add hollow tips to the fins, and tabs to the insides of the fists to allow them to hold onto his arms tighter, resulting in a visible slit on either side of each one. These altered versions became the standard for all subsequent reissues of the mold. Like all his 1984 brethren, a rubsign was added to Starscream in 1985. This toyline sees the addition of the "Core Class", a return to the Legends Class from the Prime Wars Trilogy, replacing the Micromasters and Battle Masters of previous lines. Kingdom also features the "Fossilizers", new skeletal characters amongst the Deluxe Class, replacing the Weaponizers and Modulators. As part of the " F.O.S.S.I.L. Technology" (Fossilized Osteo-Skeletal Shield Integration Loadout), they can be taken apart to form armor or weapons compatible with the C.O.M.B.A.T. System. Unlike Siege and Earthrise, the robot mode scale falters due to the larger size of the Beast Wars characters and the smaller size of "Generation 1" characters in the Core Class.Part of the second wave of Takara's Robotmasters toys, Starscream is a re-imagining of the original Generation 1 figure, retaining its basic transformation scheme, but designed to be closer to the animation model, with greater articulation and integrated parts that do not require detachment during transformation. The only pieces that now need to be removed are Starscream's null-ray rifles, which move from his wings to his arms. He has three peg-holes on each arm, allowing the null-rays to be mounted on his shoulders, on his forearms, or in his fists. These holes are also designed to accommodate the generic spring-loaded missile launcher weapon included with Robotmasters G1 Convoy, Beast Convoy and Beast Megatron.

During early planning for Beast Wars, Hasbro conceived McDonald's toys of vehicular Auto Rollers, including one of Starscream as a jet. [7] This toy concept may have been a parallel idea to the unreleased Generation 2 jet Auto Roller ultimately used in Japan as Beast Wars II Autojetter. Starscream figure converts into classic G1 jet mode in 30 steps and comes with 2 weapon accessories While the earliest releases of Skywarp were basically identical to the Diaclone mold, some small modifications were soon made to the figure which became the standard for all subsequent reissues of the mold. These included the hollowing out of the inner edges of his wings and the tips of his tail-wings, the lengthening of the pegs on his wings, and the addition of extra clips on the inner sides of his fist-gauntlets, allowing them to grip his arms better but creating a visible slit on them. Like all his 1984 brethren, Skywarp gained a factory-applied rubsign in 1985, which was added to the left side of his fuselage. The goal of this vehicle mode appears to have been to create a more Earth-like tank without the "scifi H-tank" shape that Siege Megatron had in vehicle form. For the most part it works. The base of the tank looks like a large, solid piece with few gaps (unless you look at it directly from behind). The turret has a vaguely Earth-tank shape and as a toy there's a lot going on including ports for Blast Effects and the ability to attach a Blast Effect to the cannon barrel. The turret can also turn in a complete circle, something many Transformers tanks cannot do nowadays.

The box features original art by Marcelo Matere [5] of Starscream with Earthrise inspired detailing in robot and vehicle mode laid over a scene of Autobot City.

If you transcribe the Cybertronian characters on the inside of the box, you get these words which Sky Lynx says in this episode: As a Deluxe-sized Unite Warriors figure, he can form the leg or arm of any Combiner Wars-style Combiner or into one of Legends Godbomber's legs, but is normally associated with Grand Galvatron. As such, his large (non-firing) double-missile-launcher accessory can convert into either a hand or foot for combiner forms.Part of the retooling for this release involves Megatron getting a whole new set of accessories. Here's a rundown: The original Tonka GoBots Bug Bite transformed into a yellow Volkswagen Beetle, just like our familiar friend Bumblebee (but if Bumblebee transformed into a robot that has a windshield for a face), so in 2004, when Transformers released a set of recolored Mini-Vehicles including a white Bumblebee, the idea of naming them all after GoBots was flirted with, which… Hasbro now sort of half-owns. It’s complicated. It was ultimately decided to leave the individual toys unnamed on the box, out of concerns that Bandai (partial owner of GoBots intellectual property) would throw a fit. The figure was reissued once more, this time in Japan, in April 2017 along with several other toys in the line to coincide with the release of the then upcoming MP36 Megatron and features a "Good design award" mark on the box.
