Funnily enough, I find it harder to write not in verse, though I feel I am now getting the hang of it! My novel THE GIANTS AND THE JONESES is going to be made into a film by the same team who made the Harry Potter movies, and I have written three books of stories about the anarchic PRINCESS MIRROR-BELLE who appears from the mirror and disrupts the life of an otherwise ordinary eight-year-old. I have just finished writing a novel for teenagers. Experiment with colour mixing. Can you make new colours and make a poster to teach people how you made them? (see Resources below) I also continued to write “grown-up” songs and perform them in folk clubs and on the radio, and have recently released two CDs of these songs. Make a list of words to describe the different settings in the story (e.g. the party, the cellar in the castle).

According to Sierra's Interaction magazine, this game can be considered a prelude to the King's Quest series. King's Quest V marked a return to the Kingdom of Serenia. [11] The events are mentioned and expanded upon in The King's Quest Companion, 2nd Edition. It mentioned that the wanderer, a barbarian, had turned down the offer of marriage after saving the princess. He journeyed into the desert and died. All that remained of him is his skeleton and a single leather shoe (a reference to KQ5). Princess Priscilla later married an individual named Kenneth the Huge and became the queen of Serenia, after her father's (King George IV) death. [12] It was further referenced as part of the King's Quest series through a trivia question in the King's Questions game that came with certain versions of the King's Quest Collection. Stanton, Jeffrey; Wells, Robert P.; Rochowansky, Sandra; Mellid, Michael, eds. (1984). The Addison-Wesley Book of Atari Software. Addison-Wesley. p.33. ISBN 0-201-16454-X.I studied Drama and French at Bristol University, where I met Malcolm, a guitar-playing medic to whom I’m now married. The book uses simple language and is repetitive and engaging. The reader feels as if they are on a journey with Eliza to escape from the castle. There is also the use of rhyme. This book would be great for a young reader (Foundation stages: for the story and KS1 advance readers for independent reading.)

I'd like to see 'The Princess and the Wizard' adapted into something, and expanded on a lot more. It'd make a great kid's film, especially for girls who like princesses with no princes; who work hard to save themselves. By adapting to and changing herself - externally and internally - depending on her circumstances and environment.I guess that's the reason why I like 'The Princess and the Wizard' more than Julia Donaldson's most famous work, 'The Gruffalo' - it's feminist, intentional or not. My real breakthrough was THE GRUFFALO, again illustrated by Axel. We work separately - he’s in London and I’m in Glasgow - but he sends me letters with lovely funny pictures on the envelopes. I'm quoting it verbatim here as a proof that I'm not alone in the minority opinion that Roberta Williams was, and is, NOT the best adventure game designer ;)

Compose a piece of music to accompany the arrival of the fairy godmother / evil wizard. How do the styles of these differ? Make a shopping list for a birthday party. How much would each item cost? How many of each will you need if there are 10, 20 or 100 guests? Small, David and Sandy (August 1982). "The Wizard, the Princess, and the Atari". Creative Computing. p.64 . Retrieved November 18, 2013.One of my television songs, A SQUASH AND A SQUEEZE, was made into a book in 1993, with illustrations by the wonderful Axel Scheffler. It was great to hold the book in my hand without it vanishing in the air the way the songs did. This prompted me to unearth some plays I’d written for a school reading group, and since then I’ve had 20 plays published. Most children love acting and it’s a tremendous way to improve their reading. This] was the second game released by Roberta Williams in the same year as Mystery House, (1980). Unlike Mystery House, Wizard And The Princess introduced color to the game. Very basic color, but color, none the less, which made the game all the more interesting. It was released again in 1982, for IBM (as Adventures in Serenia - Underdogs).
