The earbuds themselves are very light, so light if fact you really can’t feel any kind of significant weight in your ears when wearing them – they weigh around 4g each (the total weight of the two earbuds and charging case is only 32g). Despite the lightweight feel, ergonomic design and their low profile size they are excellent quality, fit really well and are very snug, are so comfortable to wear and do not have that cheap feel. The box of the Edifier X3 is small. Very small. And that made us suspect that there would be no more than 250 mAh in the earbuds. But nothing is less true. Edifier has actually managed to put 350 mAh in the charging case . That is quite an achievement! It means that you can charge both earbuds 3.5 times from 0% to 100%. An excellent achievement!

The X3 isn't a bass-focused earphone. The sub-bass doesn't dive very deep, and there's no heavy bass slam. The bass provides a nice thump that can pulsate in your ears and delivers enough power for electronic pop, modern dance music, and hip-hop, but it doesn't force itself where it doesn't belong. The bass on the Edifier X3 isn't a dominator; it's a companion. The sound is decent. But it does leave something to be desired. Let's start with the latter. The Edifier X3 does not have enough bass. The low notes are there, but they are underrepresented. Your most powerful song is somewhat weakened with these X3 earbuds. And that is of course a shame. If you are really a sound freak, you better go for other earplugs. Overall, I really like the design & styling. They are understated and will suit everyone regardless of your overall fashion style. I quite like the fact that some people would call them ‘boring’. It’s a plus, in my opinion. I don’t want everyone to notice I’m wearing a pair of decent headphones especially if I’m ever travelling through no so desirable areas. IP55 Waterproof RatingThe drivers emphasize low-end sounds, something we’re accustomed to seeing in standard consumer audio products. The amplification is just above the threshold of hearing: we typically don’t notice changes less than 3dB and notes from 20-200Hz are ~5dB louder than the lower end of midrange frequencies. If you’re not one for numbers: just know that some vocal and instrumental detail may be lost to the amplified bass notes. That said, the Edifier TWS1 earphones perform exceptionally well for the price and make just about anything sound good. The charger is micro-USB. I’d have preferred USB-C but then if USB-C technology and fast charge was introduced it’d probably increase the price significantly and the X3’s X factor is definitely how cheap they are. For my sound test I listened to Eminem’s latest album called ‘Music To Be Murdered By’. As with most hip-hop, a good low end is essential to get the most out of the music. You can be understood by the person you are calling. Let's put that first. Although not in detail, the words can be distinguished for your conversation partner. Despite being a pair of budget earbuds, the Edifier X3 comes with a touch control panel. The earbuds come fitted with a high-precision touchpad which we were greatly impressed by. It was easy to control and very responsive.

The Edifier X3 TWS Earbuds are a great pair of no frills entry-level earbuds. But if there’s ever an X4 model coming, Edifier should include volume controls on the earbuds themselves. Edifier always impress me with the sound quality they manage to squeeze out of their devices. And overall I’m really quite surprised how good these are! Microphone Quality I love Edifier’s audio gear. It’s great quality and their audio equipment always does what they say it’ll do. They’re no if’s, but’s or maybes, it just works. With a slightly boosted bass and prominent vocals, the Edifier X3 is a good sounding allrounder suitable for most music genres. Because the Edifier X3 are built a bit wider, it is more difficult to close the microphone input because it hits part of your ear. So that is positive again. Calling with the Edifier X3The charging case has a 500mAh battery that will enable you to listen for a whopping 15 hours! There’s enough juice to last you a fair few days. And whilst we’re on the subject of battery life. As for the earbuds themselves, they have a low profile design to them. This means they’re thin enough that they won’t jut out too much from your ears. They have the same matte texture as the charging case, and they’re extremely light (4.8g each). That being said, they don’t feel cheap at all.

The earbuds also feature an IP55 dust and water resistance rating so you can wear these out and about in the rain or during exercise without worry. Battery Life Vocals make the most outspoken part of the X3's sound signature. They sound forward, no matter if it's darker male voices or the highest-pitched (female) voices. Singers sound clear - sometimes even a bit too much. The Edifier X3 True Wireless Earbuds are equipped with Bluetooth v5.0 with Qualcomm Chipset to create a wireless connection with a range of up to 10m (30ft) and lower power consumption. They feature One-Step Pairing for a faster connection and have an ergonomic, compact design making them lightweight and small. They also have an IPX5 rating making them water/rain and sweat resistant. The use High-Fidelity aptX decoding technology for CD quality sound and have a CVC V8.0 Noise Cancelling Isolation Microphone for clearer sound during telephone calls. Coming with Bluetooth 5.0 and support for the Qualcomm aptX codec, the Edifier really excels when it comes to signal stability and audio response. The audio delays are unnoticeable, and I’ve never heard my music jitter or stutter before. The Edifier X3 TWS earbuds each have a 60mAh battery in them that gives about 4 hours 55 minutes of battery life on maximum volume. The charging case has a 500mAh battery that gives it an additional 15 hours of usage, which is pretty sweet considering the price tag of the X3 TWS earbuds. It can definitely last you the entire day.My current day to day headphones are the AirPods and they take a fair bit of punishment throughout the day. A striking plus is that these earplugs come with slightly longer ear tips. That guides the sound into your ear better and you hear less ambient noise.
