Description

In addition to the main stages, Casino Night is also included as an optional stage in the Classic Era as DLC. Sonic Generations is a fast-paced action platform game in the long-running Sonic the Hedgehog series. As part of Sega's 20th Anniversary celebration for the character, it revisits the history of the entire series with famous stages from all of the major titles over the last 20 years. The game is divided into three "eras", each with three stages, which each come from a different game starting from the original Sonic the Hedgehog all the way up to Sonic Colors, and including many of the highs and lows in between. As well as mentioning genies and magic books, Modern Sonic also mentions "saving aliens in an interstellar amusement park" in the same cutscene.

This game contains the second highest polygon counts for a Sonic model, with the Modern Sonic model reaching 16,173 tries, 16,173 faces and 8,316 verts. The highest polygon count so-far is the one from Sonic Unleashed. [60]October 31, 2011). Sonic Generations - A Suffering Hedgehog’s Life Flashes Before His Eyes. Game Informer. The music in the game was remixed by Jun Senoue and Tatsuya Kozaki, with guest remixes done by Tomoya Ohtani, Kenichi Tokoi and Naofumi Hataya (who remixed the classic versions of the Mega Drive stage themes), among others.

The game's main hub is a realm called White Space, in which the player can explore, converse with other characters, and access the game's levels, each of which are derived from a previous entry in the series. [7] [8] The levels are split into three separate eras: the Classic Era (focusing on levels from games for the Sega Genesis); [9] the Dreamcast Era (focusing on levels from games for the Dreamcast, GameCube, Xbox, and PlayStation 2); [10] and the Modern Era (focusing on levels from games for the Wii, Nintendo DS, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3). [11] [5] Each level consists of two acts (one for each Sonic), and ten additional missions such as collecting a certain amount of rings or completing a level with the help of another character. [12] In late 2010, rumors of a Sonic Anniversary game surfaced online. [19] The rumors told of a game that would potentially feature remakes of levels from throughout the series' history in both 2D and 3D. The game was alleged to be released on all major game consoles at the time: PlayStation Portable, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, and Nintendo DS.
