Please be advised that the HandiRack may be unsuitable for use on certain vehicles fitted with curtain airbags. This is an additional option that can be selected during the checkout process and currently takes 1-2 working days. We needed two people, one to squeeze the valves together to let the air out and the other to roll them up. The HandiRack can carry loads of up to 80kg/175lbs (subject to individual vehicle manufacturer’s recommendations) and is suitable for most cars. The first time there was no problem, no scratches but the roof does dent although this bings back out afterwards with no easily visible marks.

It has 4 metal poles in the base, which fold down to allow the HandiHoldall to be packed away into a storage bag too. Don't allow any sharp objects to be strapped down close to the inflated tubes, they may puncture and lastly, the fitting straps go through the cabin of your car, ensure that they are not in your way or any passengers way, especially children in car seats who can sit quite high in the rear of a car. The HandiRack is handy indeed, but I would only recommend it for exceptional situations, only for cars with strong roofs, and for only 2 boats at the very most. We used ours to carry 3 boats from Trieste airport to Bovec, and spent the whole trip listening to the roof gently pop in and out- not recommended for a relaxing start to your trip.

We first tried one boat and that was easy, but getting two boats on the rack is difficult, especially because the whole system is rounded and the material is slippery, so it's hardly doable if you're alone.Done the straps up inside the car, much as you do for the handiracks, and voila, you're very own 'proper' roofrack.
