Granda Banks, of course, makes a wonderful third part of this duo, ready to help out or cover for Bonnie or give her the sage advice she needs. But, dead body aside, this is a fun story and I think a lot of mature children would enjoy reading it. It was such a pleasure to meet you both, and I really appreciated how smoothly and professionally you ran everything. Sounds like the world’s best detective needs to make an appearance and discover what happened and who the murderer/thief is. A sampled well read 11 year old approved of the surprising mystery conclusion and entertaining writing.

All told this is a lively affair, with wit and just about enough exuberance to both get and keep those pages turning. Although Bonnie may have been hoping for a break from solving murders with a break to Odde Island with Grampa Banks, it seems it’s not to be.Bonnie and her grandfather (who keeps refusing to share his lemon sherbets) are having a very pleasant day out at the Hornville Museum of Natural History and Suchlike when, a blackout and a loud scream change everything for there has been both a murder and a robbery. Quickly, she identifies several suspects, all of whom are singular characters with individual quirks and questionable connections with the museum.

This is one of our must-reads for readers aged 8+ that love detective series like An Eerie-on-Sea Mystery, Murder Most Unladylike Mystery, The Sinclair's Mysteries and Scarlet and Ivy books. Your words, like your reviews, bring books to life and give them a voice before the front cover is even turned. The second instalment in a brilliantly clever, funny and highly illustrated murder mystery seriesThe most troublesome th.Hilarious and at times extremely heartwarming this was such an enjoyable read and I couldn’t recommend it enough. I haven't charted out my visits for the summer term, but I'm sure there are several in the south) and thanks so much for being so fantastic! The new sleuth is humorous and witty and will inspire budding detectives everywhere, as all that is clearly needed is a clever disguise, a fake moustache, a notebook and lemon bonbons! A great new detective has been born - welcome Bonnie Montgomery […] A hilarious story with plenty for the adults reading as well […] fast paced and will keep the reader entertained throughout.

You guys are such a force for good and I am a passionate supporter of Indie booksellers, so I'm so happy this worked out well (I'd love to know how many books were sold if you have it to hand - it felt like quite a lot! Wit and humour abound, there’s a plethora of puns, and at the same time, intrigue and high drama […] All this accompanied by Claire Powell’s delightful illustrations which help elucidate some of the clues. Montgomery Bonbon: Murder at the Museum is a brilliantly funny murder mystery story by Alasdair Beckett-King. Bonnie Montgomery (as her case-cracking alter-ego Montgomery Bonbon) has been invited to Adderstone Manor by Fergus Crok.My only minor criticism is it feels like his editor snoothed out his wonderful sense of the comic absurd a little too much. Beckett-King has fun in his description of them: the frizzy- haired horticulturist with plants sprouting out of every pocket, and the indomitable handy-woman who caretakes the museum are especially good comedy value. Montgomery Bonbon has helped to solve several big cases but has not really received the recognition for them as Inspector Sands from the local authority does not really approve of 'his' interference.

Crammed full of brilliant humour, wonderfully illustrated […] a wonderful shared read as adults will enjoy both the storyline and the delicious humour too. It's therefore clear to see the obvious inspirations for this book, but it works, and actually having a grandfather sidekick thrown in adds two really nice dynamics: an adult to get you somewhere in a realistic fashion (instead of unbelievable cut scenes! In exploring this we are led through a satisfying murder mystery, with a cast of colourful characters, and amusing interactions. As well as the obvious inclusion of a somewhat conspicuous moustache, the story features the assembly of a cast of curious characters connected by mysterious truths, and has a big- reveal-climax that is thoroughly rewarding. It’s a fantastic independent book seller that will actually be responsive and select appropriate books for you.
