Jonathan and Maddie started spending time with each other and he proves himself to Kennedy and Maddie that he can now become the person they always wanted him to be. Kennedy worked as a waitress to support them while Jonathan continuously scours the streets of California for the opportunity to land a role in any acting gig. I’ll be taking a brief break from contemporary romance so that I can come back to the genre feeling fresher. He knew he was in no condition to take care of his family and that he’d be poison for them, so he didn’t even dare to try it until he was sure he’d stay clean.

an incident occurs and now he’s back claiming he’s different, sober, and ready to take accountability but will she believe and trust him this time? She moans and wraps her arms around my neck, clinging to me damn near aggressively as she kicks the door closed. The chapters goes back and forth from the time when Kennedy and Jonathan left their hometown so that Jonathan can have his big shot in Hollywood and the present where Jonathan is making amends with his daughter and Kennedy. I wouldn’t say it was an overly sexy read but it definitely had enough to prove their connection and compatibility.I have previously read Darhower’s Sempre and I noticed that she thrives in writing about extensive character developments in her story. There's SOOOOO many more quotes I'd love to share, but I really highlighted almost this entire book and I'll just give everything away. Jonathan Cunningham, Hollywood's hottest commodity, her first love, and the father of her daughter, has been absent from her life. Maybe, there’s a book angel up there keeping an eye on me, knowing that I HAD to experience Ghosted.

The ending was very wholesome and yes, I admit it, quite a bit kitschy too, but it was a romance so DUH! I want to pick her up and shove her in my pocket, shield her from everything for as long as I’m alive, but I can’t do that, because the truth is, she’s not just mine. If you like Hollywood scandal, superheroes, complex characters, and a story full of heart, then look no further.

Anyone who’s ever even met a kid that age would know that they just aren’t capable of the kind of emotional maturity Maddie displays. Every day when she goes to work, lurid tabloids surround her, the face of a notorious bad boy haunting her from their covers. Maxine Mitchell is passionate about animals, traveling, coffee, a good bottle of wine, and great stories. You want to hate him for his mistakes, but as you learn the story through the eyes of the woman that loved him and get his POV in the present, you get to see a man that's determined to pay for his mistakes and make them right.

No sugar coating Kennedy and Jonathan's relationship when Jonathan was a struggling actor and their realtionship was becoming toxic. They have a daughter and Jonathan knows about her but Kennedy would not let him meet her until he become sober. One thing that hurt me most in this book was that Kennedy choose Jonathan over her own dreams and he choose drugs, alcohol because he was tired of his life. Kennedy is surely clouded with doubts and fears but thank goodness for being brave and opening her eyes and heart to see the changes in Jonathan.

Imagine, I found myself so engrossed into reading it and was just suddenly sucker punched in the gut by the lines being delivered by the characters. Kennedy Garfield and Jonathan Cunningham met in their last year of high school, their young, rosy love running wild and free from the moment they first laid eyes on one another, and eventually ushering them into adulthood. What follows is a moving tale of second chances, of a man working hard to earn back the trust of those he’s let down, of a father getting to know his child for the first time and learning the true meaning of unconditional love. I really liked the way the author wrote the then/now portions of the book and I absolutely adored Maddie’s character.
