Description

Scotch tape is a clear, adhesive tape. Select a matte tape as opposed to one with a glossy finish because it will be less noticeable. Doing its job I have only used this the once and not yet washed the garment so can only comment on that it was easy to use (I didn't however cut the top of the lid but used a small spatula instead) bottle requires a second tip to allow you to cut the top off the bottle for easier application and prevent the glue from drying out etc Using iron-on fusible interfacing or iron-on hem tape on the edges works very well to stop fraying. I use a craft awl and it’s so much easier. It gives you more control with making the hole in the fabric. Reply Handy fabric glue designed to stop hems from fraying that is clear drying and remains flexible once dried so it does not affect how your garment will wear. Use this non fray fabric glue to reinforce edges on upholstery work, ideal for keeping the seams of curtains and clothing looking their best.

You will have to squeeze the bottle a little bit to make the liquid flow but squeeze gently so that you do not get too much at one time. Once you have applied the adhesive you just wait for it to dry before continuing on with that part of the project. It is probably safe to say that this product and its competitors will not go bad even if you do not empty the bottle years after purchasing it. Some Final Words

LOOK how the second eye, the BLUE Craft eye fits nice and tight with no gap between the eye and the fabric! As long as you keep the cap on tight and store it with the cap end up, you should not have any problem if you wait more than a year to use it again. Another user has kept their bottle for several years and reported no problems with the contents.

This will work just as well, but the main difference is that it won't trim the raw edge before sewing. You can do this manually and cut edges with a sharp pair of scissors before you sew. Minimize the amount you handle the fabric before sewing.

Hey Candice, thanks! Isn’t is funny how such little things can make a such a big difference! 😀 Reply Yes, this adhesive can be washed although one should be wary of using warm or hot water. If you are only using the material to hold the fabric seams in place until you sew them up, then hot water will wash out the liquid. Then you have to be careful to not use this product near open flames or a heat source. it can be very flammable and you do not want any accidents taking place. Once it dries, the liquid dries very clear and no one should know that you used it unless you tell them that you did.

This version of the many anti fraying liquids available today is made by June Tailor. It comes in different sizes and the large size measures about 1 1/2 fl. oz. The purpose of this product is to help sewers keep their fabrics from fraying without having to stop what they are doing to sew extra stitches. You need to gently run the clear nail polish brush along the edge of the fabric enough to coat the fabric but not so much that it creates a clump or bulk. Burning Edges ( Synthetic Fabrics Only) The key is to hold the iron above the spot where you used this product and let the steam handle the rest. You can place the iron temporarily on the spot you just glued but that is not a long stay by any means. This is Zimmy from India. I like your patterns too much, as its so easy to make, these were so easy no any hotch-potch in your patterns.

Fleece fabric is nice and ‘fluffy’ and so the eyes will sink into the fur/pile a little and fit nice and snuggly in place… Hi there, I have napkins that have a frayed edge and want to be able to hand stitch something to stop it from fraying further. Sewing is new to me so any advice would be helpful. I don’t have any felt so I am trying a double layer of white fleece. I think it will work. I am making Digger the Dachhound for my sister-in-law who had to put her dog down. I am making it in a reddish brown mottled cotton. It looks really good so far. ReplyYou could make a feature of the edge and hand sew a blanket stitch. This would look decorative and would stop further fraying. Otherwise, you could turn the edge over twice to create a double hem. There are a number of fabrics that look and feel great but unfortunately have a tendency to unravel and fray. Working with such fabrics can be a bit frustrating but it doesn’t have to be. I have asked in the past how to stop fabric from fraying and I have been given some really useful ways.
