I have so many questions about Collith, Daron, Laurie, and several other characters, and I can’t wait to start the next book in the series! Gwyn, Viessa, Lyari, Mercy, and others are all well-layered, independent females who epitomize female strength, and I love their individual roles in the story. Sutton’s writing quickly immerses you into this dark fantasy world filled with rich and well-developed characters. Fortuna is very impulsive in the first two books, and I like how Fortuna is not as ruled by impulsivity in this one.

There were times when I felt so bad for him and other times when I wanted to shake some sense into him.This is the third book in the series and isn’t a standalone, so I recommend reading the first two books before you read this one.

He’s another character with a lot of secrets, and that air of mystery makes me love him and distrust him at the same time. Her life is in turmoil and constant danger, she is riddled with guilt and fear, and she is burdened with ruling the Unseelie Court. Of course, her relationship with Ollie adds to her constantly increasing confusion, and I’m interested to see how Fortuna reconciles her conflicted feelings.There are hundreds of faeries in her head, her brother seems to have lost touch with reality, and a werewolf won't leave her side. It tastes like a chili pepper with an exquisite sweet sauce… But is it the spiciest one of the Fortuna Sworn books? Fortuna is traumatized by what happened at the end of Restless Slumber and is going through a very dark time. The last of her race, she’s left alone, as her parents died and her brother, Damon, disappeared under strange circumstances two years ago.

Once she catches the eye of a mysterious and highly attractive faerie, Collith, who saves her and promises to help find her brother at a certain cost. The underground court, the supernatural beings, and the unusual society create a unique and intriguing setting. She recognizes her rash actions and decisions and even tries to rectify some of them and repair the relationships she splintered.

However, when she enters the Seelie court, she realizes there are worse things than being a Nightmare.

Fortuna is one of the bewitching character types you fall in love with immediately due to her impulsiveness, wittiness, and sarcastic nature. You won’t find another similar young adult fantasy that combines paranormal and real aspects so exquisitely in the urban settings. Just a glimpse of Ian O’Connell’s face causes panic attacks, and Collith isn’t much help, considering he’s fighting demons of his own.
