In the softwares used for digital painting, the painting area is typically known as the canvas. The canvas’ size is measured in pixels. A0, the largest in this series, measures 84.1 x 118.9 cm. The succeeding sizes A1 to A10 are based on each size being half the size of the previous one when folded. This also means that the length of one size is equal to the width of the size bigger to it. The quotient of the length divided by the width is 1.4142, and the series’ aspect ratio is 1:√2. Here’s my general rule of thumb: If you just want to show it on the internet and on social media, a good canvas size for digital art is a minimum of 2000 pixels on the long side, and 1200 pixels on the short side.
