Clumsy kids will appreciate Barney Saltzberg’s imaginative book, which shows how mistakes (spills, tears, stains) can turn into something wonderful. Most recently Melinda Gates chose Beautiful Oops as one of the top three books every child should read. It has lots of brilliant flaps and things that my toddler loves to interact with, for example it shows a bent page corner that has been turned into a penguin, or a rolled up ball of paper that's now a sheep. Unique in every respect, this book is full of pop-ups, lift-the-flaps, tears, holes, overlays, bends, smudges, and more, each demonstrating how blunders can become wonders. This book helped him realize that he can make something beautiful from accidents and that mistakes are ok.

I got this book for my son because he would get so frustrated if he made a mistake: coloring outside the lines, an accidental mark on a drawing, etc.This is a gorgeous book about making the best of what you have, turning negatives into positives, and it's so fun and such a fantastic lesson to teach.
