About this deal

This is my favourite from Les Creations de Monsieur Dior series. The only Dior I've tried in vintage is Miss Dior so I don't have the original to compare Diorella to.

Now, finally, vetiver may also really appear; earthy and slightly moist fragrant marries this fragrance with patchouli, also oak moss may not be missing, of course. With the result: So hard to find words for this one. I've wanted it for so long and finally got my hands on a bottle. I've worn it a few times trying to make up my mind about what exactly it is that makes people compare Diorella to 'flowers and garbage' 'Vietnamese beef salad' and 'fur rubbed with mint toothpaste'. In this case I have commented the current version of Diorella, unfortunately I do not know the vintage version (yet). This one was certainly richer in all points, especially concerning oakmoss. But we don't have to discuss the idle topic of reformulations now. It settles into an earthiness with oak moss and a nice patchouli (oh, I love patchouli) which makes it comfortable for a guy like me to wear even though there are noticeable fresh floral notes and powdery smooth musk note meant more for the ladies. I actually sniffed my way through the scents of Dior and my favourite was definitely "Diorella". I didn't buy it then (it was too expensive for me), but I got samples again and again, until one day I got it as a present. Over the years I lost sight of Diorella, there were too many other exciting scents. Very much later it ran me then again over the way and moved in meanwhile as a permanent companion again with me.

My Account

Because through the wife of my first boss, who was employed in a then well-known perfumery, I got to know them well: the early beauties, which still pleased the "patron" himself and also the later creations of this house. And to highlight simplicity over complexity by making one accord the focus and letting others to enhance and imply nuances is impeccable. I do try not to get obsessed with Dior Dior. I was very eager to try it, acquired my infinitesimally tiny bottle, and found that I like it very much (quelle surprise!). I tell myself that I have some excellent alternatives, in large quantity, all very beautiful. Of course, if a larger bottle of Dior Dior appeared for me, I would snatch it up with both hands immediately! I would also like to mention that Diorella is one of the classically designed fragrances that can be worn by men as well. Also the gentlemen who have a certain shyness for flowers can be carefree, here everything is very well balanced. This might be an alternative if someone feels the same way about Eau Sauvage as I do. Diorella can pass for a Diorello I wouldn't recommend a vintage Diorissimo - they're often at least leaning towards some funk if not half or fully turned/negatively changed. Dior Dior however is an above average fragrance when it comes to lasting through time (again at least partly dependent always on good storage techniques, bottle fullness as lots of headspace contributes negatively to many juices aging)

Diorella, Dioressence, Diorissimo, Eau Fraiche Forever and Ever make the five fragrances of the Les Creations de Monsieur Dior collection, presented as timeless opus of Dior which resists time and new trends. Every day I went to Galaries Lafayettes to spray on just a little bit. It wasn't available in London and it was quite expensive but it just smelled expensive and gorgeous. By the way, the modern one is harsh on what I think is a cilantro accord made by amping up melon, basil and lemons. It does retain the dreamy and languid quality the vintage imparts in feel but nothing beats the first iteration. Many a person may feel rather repulsed by chypre scents, too harsh, too harsh, too rough, too this, too that. This is understandable, as our scent sensations and preferences are as different as the big world of scents and not everyone likes it particularly harsh But I am of the opinion that with the green chypre scents of the classic design a look or a sniff is worthwhile. If Art Nouveau could be represented by a single scent,it would be Diorella, imo.i love chypre's.Diorella is no exception. Diorella is like a quirky pampered girl among the class of citrus chypre cologne (70's), standing aside alone, watching two popular classmates O de Lancome and Eau de Rochas dancing and laughing aloud in the party.a sophisticated white scarf on a spring day of a classy lady type of smell. Diorella's bouquet is skilfully blended by Roudnitska with texture, balance and form all taken into consideration to capture a realistic still life.Roudnitska is unique,he can do "magic" masterfully mixing citrus notes with fruity notes. preceded by female masterpiece as this one, Diorama or would parfum de Therese.Diorella is well known perfume among royal ladies.very natural and wonderfully earthy.

But this must first give way to the ripe, juicy peaches: their sweet fruitiness only completes this sunlit garden impression. Roudnitska is a genius, his work cannot be destroyed with a simple rework. Traces of his artistry remain and even the worst reformulation offers us a scent that remains a work of art. More, much more than many insignificant creations around today. Those who have otherwise kept their distance with chypre scents may like to try Diorella, here it doesn't creak, the scent is consistently cheerful and friendly and doesn't kill. That's how it originally came about, this fragrance from the house of Christian Dior: boxes and flacons with the "belly bands" in the differently colored pattern, were immediately recognizable. I would never have tried this if it weren't for an older lady who worked the counter at Carson Pierre Scott near where I grew up.
