Description

Einstar is a handheld scanner that is great for scanning human-sized or large objects. With its non-rigid algorithm and large scanning range, Einstar can scan outdoors with ease. Its cost-effectiveness makes it a great choice for those on a budget.

Resolution is defining the point distance which the scanner is capturing. The smaller the distance, the higher the resolution, and more density points of the data for better detail. If you select low resolution, the point distance is bigger, less points generated. We suggest to set low resolution when scan large size object for better scanning experience. When you’re happy with your result, you can export it in most of the common formats (STL, obj, ply, asc, …) and save it to your computer. Einstar 3D scanner can provide high quality scans with high color fidelity and detailed scans. The scanner collects high density point cloud data fast and easily with point distance up to 0,1 mm. Thanks to a built-in RGB color camera, the 3D data consists of authentic colors. Furthermore, a built-in detail enhancement technology optimizes the point cloud for complete data acquisition. Once you’ve validated all the angles and distances, the software moves on to the white balance part. This part literally takes just a few seconds. Scanning modes The infrared light source of Einstar is friendly to human eyes. The Hair Mode helps to acquire more hair data, and shows the 3D data with authentic colors. It only took about 3 minutes 54 seconds to acquire the 3D data of the human body.Since face 3D scanning is one of Einstar’s key use cases, we just had to try it out. We scanned a friend, Julien, in portrait mode and got an amazing result in 0.5mm resolution.

With the increasing demand for 3D scanning in various industries, the need for scanners that can handle both small and large objects has become a common query. Are you looking for such a solution? Look no further than the combination of SHINING 3D EinScan-SE Desktop 3D Scanner and Einstar! These two scanners work together seamlessly to give you high-quality scans of objects of all sizes. We haven’t yet explored every single option, but it has everything a typical scan mesh editor would offer, like smoothing and hole filling. Objects with few, flat faces, like a box. Objects that are too flat do not have enough features for the scanner to base itself on. Once you’ve chosen your scanning mode and resolution, you can start the scanning process by pressing the button at the top of the scanner. Preview step to adjust settings I’ll post videos now, but I have never been this impressed with a product that is not named Apple something. This is a seismic game changer, and it allows me access to a tool that I could have only dreamed of owning. The video from above will show you the next steps for version 1.0.5.0, the installation of newer version will be the same as this.

We used the hole-filling tool to fix a few areas that were hard to reach with the scanner. You can manually fill each hole and use different parameters for each hole, or use the auto feature. We used the automatic hole-filling tool and it worked nicely- even on a pretty big area (see the video below). As the leading drafting party of the industry standard of "Chinese Structure light 3D measurement system", SHINING 3D has always been serious about accuracy. Unlike "single frame accuracy", we tend to test "accuracy of aligned data" in a professional measurement way. Because 3D models are usually stitched together from multiple scanned frames, in most cases the accuracy one is discussing is not the highest accuracy that can be obtained from a single scan. On the first day of using this scanner (yesterday), I used it from 7 am to 5 pm. Never got tired of holding it. I may even remove the strap as I like to switch hands when I’m scanning or trying to get around a corner of the part. We then set up the Einstar by plugging everything in. It comes with a two-in-one cable just like on more professional 3D scanners; the power cable plugs into the data cable, which is plugged into the scanner. Calibration EXStar prompts you to hold the scanner at different distances and angles from the plate. If you are new to 3D scanner calibration processes, you might need to get the hang of some of the angles. Make sure you follow the same movement shown on the software interface. It’s also amazing that you can edit your mesh directly within EXStar. On most other low-cost 3D scanners, you’d have to install and use a second software that may or may not be from the manufacturer. This means additional export steps, getting to know another software and UX if it’s not from the same editor, etc. In short, a hassle. After watching that video, I bought Einstar along with a pretty pricey PC laptop to run it, and yesterday on my first scans I completely copied a supercharger intercooler housing and a car’s coil cover. I’m in the automotive field. I need good scans so I can import them to CAD and get to work designing parts. If your model compute capability is lower than 4.3 you will not be able to run it, and you will need a hardware upgrade, if the value is bigger than 4.3 you are able to use the scanner with that graphic card.
