Description

The perfect tool for your home barista station, with a place to put the tamper (⌀ 58 mm) and a dedicated space to place the filter-holder, to keep your working area clean and organized. The Gaggia Carezza Deluxe RI8525 is a coffee maker designed to provide a convenient and enjoyable brewing experience. This machine features a sleek and modern design, making it an attractive addition to any kitchen countertop. As a largely traditional espresso machine, the design caters primarily for smaller espresso cups, and the portafilter height is fixed, but there is enough room to fit a mug if you like your coffee Americano-style. Gaggia often has a standard “style” version, and a slightly more expensive “deluxe” version, but the difference is usually only down to materials and aesthetics, and I think there were once various options for the Carezza, but these days in the UK at least it's just the Deluxe version available.

Gaggia Carezza Deluxe review | Expert Reviews

Today an in-depth look at the Gaggia Carezza Deluxe. The Carezza Deluxe is in a class of machines that brew using a pressurized filter basket. These machines simplify home and office espresso brewing because they can work with pre-ground coffee and Easy Serve Espresso pods. The benefit with either of those? Well, you don’t need a grinder or barista training to get good results. So if you're not bothered about looks, and you're purely focusing on performance, then it's just worth keeping in mind that what I said about the DeLonghi Dedica above when compared to the Carezza where performance is concerned, also goes for the Smeg espresso machine. So let’s get right into those breakout features. First is pre-infusion. It’s something you usually only find on higher-end machines or done manually by a barista. Pre-infusion wets the coffee briefly prior to full pressure brewing. Doing that causes the coffee to swell and results in a deeper more complete extraction of flavor. It’s an advanced feature you don’t find on other machines at this level. Filter Basket SizeAs others have noted, no end cap, but it was very easy to remove the old one to use. When removing the nut holding the old one it sheared, but the fit is really good and I am able to use it without bolting it on. Anyway, the tank is small, at 1.3L, and yes it uses 0.1L of this when doing the purge, but it is front accessed so it's very easy to fill. Yes, in my opinion. Unless I was really pushed for worktop space, I'd go for the Carezza over the Dedica myself. It's just a bit more substantial, I prefer the fact that you can choose to buy it with a standard basket portafilter instead of having to hunt around for one, and again I prefer the steam wand on the Carezza, and the steam is a bit more powerful too. The drip tray cover is metal, and it's held onto the drip tray with a magnet, so it doesn't move at all when you're using it. OK, a small thing, but a small impressive thing, a really nice little touch that I wasn't expecting from such a cheap machine.

Gaggia Carezza Deluxe - Home espresso machine made in Italy

This included the Gaggia Carezza, or the “Gaggia Carezza Deluxe” to give it its full, official title. It included the Sage Duo Temp Pro too. For added convenience, the Carezza Deluxe RI8525 features a removable drip tray and water tank, making it easy to clean and maintain. The machine also has a built-in cup warmer, ensuring that your coffee stays hot even after brewing.

A prime example of the type of quality that this iconic brand brings to the table can be seen in the Gaggia RI8525/08 Carezza Deluxe Espresso Coffee Machine. The Gaggia Carezza is a manual espresso maker, which means that it will require a little more hands-on activity than a bean-to-cup or a strictly pod machine. I love this coffee machine however the coffee temperature is only between 50 and 60 degrees Celsius more than 10 degrees below the optimum. Does this mean my machine us faulty. Only had it for about three weeks Once you’re ready for coffee, it’s a matter of filling the group handle with your ground coffee or ESE pods. We used ground coffee for our testing. Gaggia recommends that you don’t tamp the coffee grounds into the pressurised group handle and doesn’t provide a tamper in the box. We found that a light tamp actually produced better results, so it’s worth buying a tamper if you go for this machine. What it effectively ends up doing is to act as a indication of how far it’s into its pre-heating ‘boot-up’ process that happens when the machine is turned on. It looks nice too, though, doesn’t it?

But, I have to say that I think for the kind of user this – and other cheaper machines – is intended for, it's not a problem. I then pulled the plastic piece, though, and it came off and revealed the pro steam wand that was hiding underneath! Without wanting to accuse Gaggia of valuing style over substance, the look has been given plenty of attention here – and as an appliance that’s going to be a centre point of your kitchen, that’s no bad thing. Get up to speed, though, and the Gaggia Carezza Deluxe produces great coffee, with the rich, golden crema we look for. The benefit of having a set temperature means you’re not given too many ways to end up with overly bitter or burnt-tasting coffee. I Say one of, them because they also bundle the Gran Gaggia, and the Gaggia Viva in the same bundle, and they're even cheaper and will produce the same espresso quality, but I'll explain in the comparisons section why I believe the Carezza is worth the relatively small amount of extra cash vs these and most slightly cheaper alternatives. As this Gaggia Carezza is constructed with plastic so it is something nappy to clean it properly. Metal casing espresso machine’s cleaning is the most get-at-able thing. Even then you can clean it effortlessly as it offers you a water reservoir and removable drip tray. The best part about this machine is its rinsing features. By rinsing you can operate hot water via the brewing unit after making every cup of coffee.
