But at the end of the day (or night) the fake stuff comes off, doesn’t it? And although I was delighted the wedding was going to be the following year, my thoughts selfishly turned to ‘ how much hair will I have left for the wedding photos?’ It was my dream to wear a fabulous hat at the wedding – but would that cause more embarrassment when I took it off at night to expose my scalp? Even as I write these words, I feel ashamed at the feelings of vanity. After all, it wasn’t about me. But then again it was one of the most important days of my life and I didn’t want the wedding album to show a balding mother of the groom. The elastic band method is a recent method used to install frontals. It secures the frontal to the hair without any product or glue and can last for quite some time. The band is measured to the size of your head and sewn onto the frontal so that is fits around the entire circumference of the head. The band allows the frontal to lay down naturally without having to worry about specific products causing damage to your hairline. The elastic band method used to install frontals is not recommended for those who are prone to headaches and migraines. Around this time, I experienced tough family losses which affected my mental health, so much so that at one point all I could hear was screaming in my head. The head which was now losing hair at an alarming rate. I guess some more triggers must have been set off.I even had my makeup applied professionally for the first time! Then came a happy family occasion – my son’s engagement party, at last, a chance to celebrate. Guests even complimented my hair on the night. Little did they know I was sporting three different hairpieces which I had managed to style into a fairly impressive updo!

Installing a lace frontal with hair extensions can tremendously cut down on the amount of time it takes to install a full head of extensions . The usual time it takes to install a full head of extensions with a lace closure is approximately one hour. Using Glue to Secure the Frontal To make a front partial hair system work, the first step is to install it. For this, we usually use a specific glue or tape to affix it to the bald area. Then, it is important to style it, which involves making it more natural by blending the front partial hairpiece with the client’s own hair.

The most popular method for installing frontals is by adhering them to the hairline with glue. This is because most frontals come with a natural hairline that is meant to cover and give the illusion of being your real hairline. The frontal should first be aligned with your natural hairline before being secured to your head. The benefits to using the glue method for securing your frontal is that it can last up to 2 weeks before needing a retouch. The downside is that it can cause your edges to become thin and even result in hair loss around the hairline. It is recommended that you discuss your hair health and styles with your hair stylist. Securing the Frontal with Tape

Every few years there seems to be an innovative new hair trend when it comes to wearing natural hair weaves, wigs, and extensions . Hair weaves and wigs have come a long way in the last few years alone and it’s becoming harder and harder to tell the difference between natural hair and hair extensions. Although we might expect our hairline to weaken or recede slightly as we age, it’s possible to experience conditions such as traction alopecia or frontal fibrosing alopecia, causing much more dramatic symptoms that are difficult to conceal. Then the big day was here. My son’s wedding day. As my only child, it was always going to be a special event and one that I had imagined for years. As I said earlier, I had visions of wearing a fabulous hat on the day. And I’m pleased to report my hat was indeed fabulous, as was the hair underneath!

Men’s frontal hair piece, also known as frontal hair system or hairline hair system, has become increasingly popular in recent years as a hair solution for men with receding hairlines. Many hairdressers or salons will also suggest that their clients wear a partial frontal hair system if they want a more instant, non-surgical way to cover baldness. Big hugs to you all! At 50, I feel your pain. My eyebrows are gone forever but I will fight this ’til the end (no kids, unmarried so sad to be transforming this way; if I find a solution in June I will let y’all know). Really appreciative of you all posting because I decided against having more cortisol injections in my 5-years hairless eyebrow area since I’m afraid that it will collapse, thank you for the considerate and caring warning!

The line of demarcation is also harder to conceal with a silk base frontal. Which means that certain hairstyles such as ponytails and buns may be harder to pull off without it looking unrealistic. This is why many women choose to go with the lace frontals especially women of color because silk base frontals are usually much too light to match the skin. A frontal hairpiece is very similar to a closure piece that is used when wearing wigs, weaves or hair extension pieces. The most obvious difference between a frontal and a traditional closure is that the frontal encloses the entire front area of your head from temple to temple right at the hairline whereas a closure only encloses about a 4x4 area at the of your head. The traditional closure piece is typically installed alongside your hairline or wherever the hair weave or wig is meant to be closed off to give it the illusion of being your own hair. The placement can also depend on where you want to create the illusion of a part when wearing a wig or hair extensions. Then came a lunch date with a good friend who was recovering from cancer. Over lunch we chatted about life and I made the same flippant remark that had previously entered my thoughts, regarding the wedding wig. Her reaction? “Well, why not try one of mine?”

The lace based closure are much more popular than silk base frontals. Lace frontals closely resemble your natural scalp. Silk base frontals look a lot less like a natural scalp and require lots of work and customization to get a more natural and realistic look. First things first: A frontal usually covers the entire front area of your head, says Yummie. It goes from ear to ear, so it covers your entire hairline too, making it super versatile. Because a frontal has a lace or silk base that blends the hair piece into your natural skin and hairline, you've got hella style options (think: deep-side parts, half-up ponytails, messy buns). If you get bored with your look after a few days, Yummie says you'll probably do well with a frontal.Following my son’s wedding and the fact that I was starting to accept my condition, I began to grow in confidence. I even shaved off what was left of my real hair and used this as my profile picture on social media to “come out”. Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t about to introduce myself to strangers as ‘Hi I’m Mandy, yes this is a wig’ – but wanted to be more open to folk I was likely to see on a regular basis. After all, at the rate I was changing styles, colours, lengths – I was sure people would wonder what was going on. And I was at the point where I’d rather they knew than have to wonder. Lace frontals seem to be the most popular trends in hair extensions and have begun to replace traditional sew-in methods for installing hair extensions and bundled hair. Most women prefer this method because it mimics the hairline more naturally without the hair looking like an actual wig or hair weave. Many frontals are even constructed with baby hairs to give it an even more natural appearance.
