The elfin tie to alchemy is likely why there are so many stories that reference an elf giving a human something that appeared to be worthless (like charcoal) that had magically transformed into gold by the time they had returned home. Elves and Seduction Steven E. Schend and Kevin Melka (1998). Cormanthyr: Empire of the Elves. ( TSR, Inc), p. 94. ISBN 0-7069-0761-4. Ability Score Increase. Darkvision, Fey Ancestry, and proficiency in Perception are all great for the Barbarian. Cold resistance is useful. Friend of the Sea is hard on a class with poor Charisma, and being amphibious only matters in campaigns where water is a consistent issue. With the exception of Path of the Beast, the Barbarian doesn’t have a way to breath underwater unassisted, so in campaigns where the Sea Elf makes sense as a choice, the Sea Elf makes an excellent barbarian. Bard A clergyman by the name of Peter Rahm was known to have told a tale of his wife being summoned to help a mythical being give birth. She went with the creature and performed her duties. After the child was born, the grateful couple offered the midwife food and drink. She kindly refused. They offered her other forms of hospitality which she refused as well. She was sent on her way and returned home. The next day she found a pile of silver pieces – a gift from the new parents for delivering their child. A Danish Story of An Elf and his Earthwife Lumia is introduced in the fourth story-arc. As a shape-shifter elf, she can transform into an eagle, a wolf, and presumably other animals. Lumia becomes a valuable ally to Emily and the elves when Noctura attempts to steal the elemental jewels. Various characters have appeared in the LEGO Elves universe, both in the animated specials such as Unite the Magic, as well as the webisodes based on the series. Brian R. James, Ed Greenwood (September 2007). The Grand History of the Realms. Edited by Kim Mohan, Penny Williams. ( Wizards of the Coast), pp. 35–36. ISBN 978-0-7869-4731-7.This name generator will give you 10 random names for underwater cities, towns and other settlements.

During the Middle Ages, convents were often afflicted by mass motor hysteria, starting around 1400 and lasting about 300 years. While some or perhaps most nuns were devoutly religious, many others were placed in convents unwillingly. Many convents were poor and life was harsh with physical labor, a strict diet and unstinting prayers. Due to stress, many nuns would exhibit hysterical behaviours – from acting out sexually to signs of demonic possession such as foaming at the mouth, fainting and screaming to behaving as certain animals.

Aquatic Elf, Freshwater

This work, a metrical poem with prose framing, is called a galdor in Old English (plural: galdru). The noun galdor is related to the verb galan (“to sing,” “to enchant”) and is generally translated “charm.” I have retained the Old English word in my title so as not to put a Modern English word's connotations on the piece and to preserve its "strangeness." Skyra is introduced in the first story-arc. She is a wind elf who was initially cruel and antagonistic towards Emily and the elves. When Emily helped her to move on from her heartbreak, Skyra adopted a different, gentler persona. She now helps Emily and the elves whenever she can. Nothing is currently known about the Water Elf Sister, except that she supported the decision to send Emily's grandmother to Earth instead of Quartzine.

Clerics can’t cast Water Breathing, so in an aquatic campaign, you really need to be an aquatic race like the Sea Elf. Perception is a great skill for clerics due to their high Wisdom, and Trance offers access to some martial weapons if you insist on using them but don’t get them from your domain. Druid The galdru are strange things to modern eyes and ears. They are medico-spiritual texts—associated with healing and protection performed with herbs (worts) , but assumed to have some degree of healing efficacy in their own right. Such practices attest to a time in European culture when humans were seen as more “porous” (to borrow a term from philosopher Charles Taylor) to the surrounding world. This notion of “porousness” assumes that the individual is not neatly confined inside one’s own body and mind, and that creatures like elves and mares (cf. “nightmare”) can somehow readily “get inside” oneself. This being the case, certain words (like prayers and charms), materials (holy water, relics, certain plants), and practices (wearing amulets and medals, making the sign of the cross) can shield the body and soul from such intrusive forces. Because of this difference in mindset from a mainstream modern worldview and their essentially practical nature, galdru can be difficult to understand. Their treatment of elves, dwarves, Woden (Odin), and the salutary power of words are from a time when elves and dwarves were not merely folklore or silly stories for children, when the power of plants and poetry was not seen as outlandish and/or sentimental, but simply the case. The galdru are enticing texts, having an eclectic mix of features from prayers, poems, medical prescriptions, and recipes, all brought together with (to us) fun invocations and wardings off of ill-defined Germanic terrors. Elves can be identified by their slender features, pointed ears and mostly hairless bodies. They’re typically a little shorter than humans but fit within the normal range for humans standing between just under 5ft to just over 6ft tall. Sea Elves appear similar but tend to have a blue or green tint to their skin. Aquatic elves were the least magical of the elven races. Once every two or three generations an aquatic elf showed a talent for arcane magic, [15] making magical talent about as common as it is in dwarf communities rather than in human or elven ones. [5] Those who were spellcasters devoted their long life spans to study and became extremely skilled. [5] In remote communities those elves who were magically inclined were limited to the teachings of the few older magic users and rare written materials. The aquatic elves of Lake Sember were able to send those with magical ability to study with the great mages of Myth Drannor. [15] Eric L. Boyd (June 2005). City of Splendors: Waterdeep. ( Wizards of the Coast), p. 19. ISBN 0-7869-3693-2.Sira Copperbranch is introduced in the second story-arc. She is an earth elf with an affinity for air-related activities. Sira loves to fly with the help of her airship. She also runs the Starlight Inn. Sira gets along swimmingly with Emily and the elves. She is especially close with Tidus, whom she has known for quite some time. An elf is a mythical creature that appears to be human in nature, but has magical powers and does not age (or at least ages very slowly). It appears that elves have their origins in Germanic lore, but they are also commonly found in other European folklore. Eric L. Boyd (November 1998). Demihuman Deities. Edited by Julia Martin. ( TSR, Inc.), p. 106. ISBN 0-7869-1239-1.
