Don’t forget to try our refreshing drinks, including Thai tea and Pink milk (Nom Yen), to perfectly complement your meal. I was left mortified, having to turn friends away, despite there being empty tables around us, and 2 empty seats on the table next door. Some of the dishes, such as Muslim-spiced curry of beef short rib, require numerous ingredients and are labour intensive, but many, including a classic pad thai or grilled coriander and garlic chicken, are much more straightforward.

It has a warm and cosy atmosphere, the staff were very attentive and the food was delicious and we’d happily dine here again! It would have been easy to accommodate us, but instead I was left apologising to guests and telling them they had to leave.So it's no surprise to open this book and find it full of insight and winning recipes - have it in your kitchen, you won't be disappointed!

The flavours were just great, wonderfully seasoned down to the spring rolls, which for me, with no sauce can be a bit flavourless, but not here. John Chantarasak (AngloThai's co-founder and Chef Patron) is of half British and half Thai heritage, drawing influences from both cuisines when creating dishes. So I’d avoid this place if you want to have a deep conversation, but for casual dining it’s not the end of the world and in fairness the staff are incredibly friendly. An aspect that we particularly love about Thai cuisine is the complex balancing of the different aspects of flavour – sour, sweet, salty, bitter, spicy. Kin Thai translates as ‘Eat Thai’ and is a collection of 80 delicious recipes that shine a light on lesser-known Thai cuisine as well as more popular Thai food classics. This is a great Thai restaurant, and although the menu is pretty traditional, the flavour is excellent and portions fairly large, on that basis alone I’d definitely recommend a visit as one of the better Thai restaurants I’ve been to in London.
