Description

Horrifying, heartbreaking and eye-opening, these are the stories, the patients and the cases that have characterised a career spent behind bars.

Along the way, they’ll unlock wisdom for those of us navigating our own coupledoms, and for those still seeking their perfect match. A much-used word, karma is loosely understood as a system of checks and balances in our lives, of good actions and bad deeds, of good thoughts and bad intentions. They even go fishing in the audiobook and the noises you hear are so different to what you hear on the television programme: you can hear the reeling, the fight of the fish, the trickling of the water, the blackbirds singing.

In the absolutely packed Act II, the dark fantasy resumes and the Sandman expands into the French Revolution, ancient Rome, 19th-century San Francisco, eighth-century Baghdad, and beyond. In each episode comedians, Bob Mortimer (portly, unskilled) and Paul Whitehouse (slender, highly skilled) spend a couple of days by the river in pursuit of that week's target fish. Paul Whitehouse and Bob Mortimer have been working in British comedy for over 30 years and are considered legends of the business. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. It seemed like Bob and Paul were simply talking in the next room as I took care of my tasks, and the time passed in a pleasant and relaxed manner. Great humor that you will find yourself laughing out loud to so be prepared for some funny looks on your commute. Obviously the format means that sometimes one of them will get a longer section of monologue than they would on-screen, especially when Paul is explaining something technical – though often a little joshing footnote from the other will intrude, and these sections are broken up with more conversational passages of back and forth. These youthful adventures, being close to his dad, awoke in Paul a love of the beauty of Britain and its wildlife.
