The blue sleeve was far too big, green sleeve wouldn't open wide enough to get on to the lug of the 60 year old back box. I can't help but wonder if a few drops of super glue would have been a better faster method of securing the product? In the end I used blu-tack to create enough grip to hold the new nut in place behind the lug, and then made a big blu-tac plug to hold everything in place when I put the switch plate back.
