About this deal

There's also an Ambient Pass-Through mode to let you hear external sounds clearly. The fact that I could hear my newborn break wind from another room tells you how strong the feature is on these cans. It’s worth turning on if you like to eavesdrop on conversations or want to know what’s happening around you, and it doesn’t compromise audio performance. Bowers & Wilkins PX7 Carbon Edition review: Audio quality

Theoretically, that means improved stability and latency between the headphones and your smartphone or tablet, in addition to the high-quality (24-bit) streaming aptX HD brought to the table.Elsewhere, the cast aluminium arm structure is beautifully finished and feels precisely engineered in the way it slides and pivots. These pricier materials don't add much weight, either, with the Px8 weighing 320g to the Px7 S2's 307g. SOUND LIKE NO OTHER: PX7 S2 uses custom-designed 40mm drive units, carefully angled inside each earcup for a truly focused, immersive listening experience. The result is headphone sound no rival can match.

It’s also ill at ease with wind noise, an using them on the Jubilee line – which is one of the loudest – they weren’t as effective at reducing the whistling noise of air through the tunnel. There is, at least, no perceptible whine when noise-cancellation is engaged, or any change in the performance audio, but weren’t as proficient as the WH-1000XM3, and since then the XM4 have come out as well as the QuietComfort 45 and Technics EAH-A800, all of which are better than the PX7. They come with a carrier case that is so great for travel too. I feel like the case will protect them very well even if I decided to put them in my normal luggage and not my carry on. The detail drawn out from music is good and knitted together with an impressive sense of timing. The PX7 are fairly forgiving too, taking lower-quality files, and making perfectly acceptable to listen to, but for the best performance ought to feed them the highest music quality to reap the best results. The entire frequency range hangs together well, with nothing overstated and nothing struggling for representation. Tonality is clean, consistent and entirely convincing. The aforementioned options from Bose and Sony still have the slight edge in terms of overall attenuation, but the gap is small enough not to matter unless you have your heart set on the closest to silence you can possibly get. It’s a different story in the smart noise cancellation department, however, with the WH-1000XM5’s Adaptive Sound Control, which is capable of switching noise-cancelling levels based on your actions and location, leaving its rivals in the dust.

Amazing sound quality I was fortunate to have the opportunity to test out the Bowers & Wilkins PX7 S2e Noise Cancelling Wireless Over Ear Headphones, and the experience was truly remarkable. These headphones seamlessly fuse advanced technology with a refined design, making them a standout choice for audiophiles. Despite the more compact casing, the weight of the Px7 S2 has only dropped slightly by 3g to 307g. They sit snugly, forming a good seal around the ear with the clamping force on the firmer side compared to the WH-1000XM5. Those with long hair may need to be wary of getting entangled in its swivelling yoke, but wearing the Px7 S2 for long periods is still extremely comfortable. The Headphones app is a simple affair with options for noise cancelling and Ambient pass-through mode. You can also adjust the proclivity of the wear sensor, add another device for the multi-point pairing feature and listen to soundscapes from the natural world. I’m not sure how much use that will get, but perhaps people will use it for more relaxing moments. If the headphones require an update, you’ll receive a prompt in the app.
