Description

This ends in a cliffhanger. It's part of a duet, although there seems to be a companion novella for some side characters available. The arc story revolves around the why, how and future of this island and factions. And we come to see that at the center of the conflict are two former best friends who got separated by the jealousy of one regarding one girl... Callie.

And the minute I meet her scared hazel eyes as she sits on the beach after the boat crash, my world tips on its axle. The main characters were awesome! Flawed, lovable, traumatized, strong and pure. Neither was flawless: Kai was always too much in his head and Callie was a bit naïve and not intelligent despite all she's gone through (or maybe because of it - trauma does weird stuff to people). But you can relate to those flaws, understand where they are coming from. And I loved them more for it. The story is so different from any other I have read, but in the best way possible!" - ★★★★★ Goodreads Review A mix of The 100, Lost, and Divergent. A dystopian world, post Change, post pandemic, post world ending!" - ★★★★★ Goodreads Review It's hard to review without spoilers, but I'm trying here 😁. Just hope this review ends up making sense...)

Reviews

There is a lottery of sorts every so often and when it happens 7 young people are selected to travel to and live on this island, touted to be the last paradise on earth. Only the most beautiful, skilled or useful are selected. The character development - Callie, Kai and Archer - is AMAZING. Amazing. By the end of the book all have grown and changed somehow. They have matured. Lovely to see that. While a hundred elite students partied on Zion Island during spring break, the rest of the world was ravaged by war. First, I was delighted with the writing style! Classic, correct (even the verb tenses that most authors murder), fluid. All showing and very little telling. It's amazing when you can smell the rain and feel what the characters are feeling without needing to have everything described to you. It is RARE, but oh so amazing. In this book, the story of Callie and Kai continues, now on the Westside. The world building is really interesting and this book is set against a very different scenario/ambiance than the first, as there more civilization on the Westside. Nevertheless, the main feeling is the same one that I loved in the first book.

I am so glad that they somehow got a happy ending although there’s no end yet. But the way this book ends gives me so much hope. I also love the relationship between Kai and Archer. Archer is the villain that I loved from the moment that I first read about him. First time he was mentioned, and I already knew that he’s gonna be my favourite. Don’t get me wrong, I love Kai and Callie BUT he’s got that something and I can’t wait to read the third and fourth book and to learn and know more about him. Archer Crone is brilliant and powerful. He wears arrogance like a badge of honor, disguising acts of kindness like dirty secrets. But behind the cold mask is a man with a gentle heart that he hides from others. A beautiful heart that I stomped on. A heart that could’ve been mine, but I screwed it all up. I’m starting with the third book today, and I can’t wait for the fourth one to come out. I love this book! 5 stars out of 5! I definitely recommend it because it’s a masterpiece and I wish and hope that this book gets the recognition it deserves.

I love everything about this book. Characters and their development. I love the plot. I love how I think I got it all figured out but I keep getting surprised. I love that there is multiple pov, because every single character has its own story and I love seeing their perspective about things that are currently going on. This book was not even about Archer, but I loved every second of his POV. And the reason why am I falling for him so hard is because I see that he just need someone to love him and there was a time when I thought that no one really loves and cares about me and I know how bad that can messes up with your head. I don’t wanna be cliche, but he’s just a villain who is misunderstood. And the more I read about him the more I’m convinced that he is actually the good guy. Author's note: Outcast is a dark steamy contemporary romance with dystopian vibes. It features mature themes and content that may not be suitable for all audiences. Reader discretion is advised. The book is part of duet and ends on a cliff. The plot: I could separate the plot into two lines - the romance story and the arc story. Both are great! Kelsey’s only hope for bringing them all together comes in the form of the Hell lord who insisted on Trent’s exile – Gray’s father. Lord Sloane is willing to acquiesce on Trent’s punishment if Kelsey will do one little job for him. A stray wolf is on a killing spree in Wyoming and he’s killed a number of witches in Lord Sloane’s service. The situation is made all the more complicated by the presence of a sinister werewolf cult in the area. Lupus Solum is known for being cruel to their own kind, and even worse to outsiders.
