I was interested to see that this was an extended series, but the writing is just not of the Lee Childs calibre. Scared, alone, and with no one to trust, she runs to the only place she thinks is safe, her summer post as a fire lookout. I’ve mentioned this before, but the thing about Reacher is that no-one is doing shit without reasons. At the start of the book’s story, it is shown that while moving along his drifting path, Jack Widow gets thrown into a deadly conspiracy neck deep. The author himself says that book four (which I haven't read) is his favourite so that trend may well continue.

This time around, I thought there were some pacing issues during the first half of the book, but all in all, still a solid thriller. In the end I gave four stars as I thought that three was being a bit harsh, the stories themselves are quite engaging after all, but if the option had existed I would have given 3. Taken to be a worthless drifter by the locals, Widow uses his skills to uncover the truth about his mother’s last investigation.So I thank you from the bottomless pit of my heart, and now happily I'm off to read the next box set. Quickly, Widow grows attached to her and her two sons, but his feelings for her may be more than a simple infatuation. This operation takes a bad turn when Alex does not hear from his man at a time when it was decided for him to check in.
