Yes, the brushes are good in that they are soft and work efficiently. Moreover, they are 100% animal hair-free. They are made of Taklon, which is a synthetic and anti-bacterial fiber material. All of the products do not contain any of the nasty stuff that might be bad for your skin. They are free from sulfates, parabens, phthalates, hydroquinone, triclocarban, triclosan, and nonylphenol ethoxylates. So to answer the latter part of the question, we can safely say that the products are not toxic. But some products might contain certain ingredients that may not work for individuals with sensitive skin. To use a face highlighter, first choose a shade that is one or two shades lighter than your skin tone. Apply it to the high points of your face, such as the cheekbones, bridge of the nose, brow bone, and cupid's bow. Then, blend it out with a brush or sponge for a natural finish. Today, we’re testing out Moonlight Pearls. For contouring, select a shade that is one or two shades darker than your skin tone. Apply it to the hollows of your cheeks, along your hairline, and under your jawline to create dimension. Blend it well to avoid any harsh lines. Despite the effort involved in applying this dry, once I had it built up to where I wanted it, it actually did create a very pretty and subtle glow that’s wasn’t too over-the-top with glitter or shimmer.
