Description

Reducing the above drama a little and instead focusing a bit more on the architecture/industry details and its interaction with barrier-free projects would have been amazing. Decent side character cast. They can be one-dimensional, but it's better than your typical shoujo manga. In the opening chapter (titled Acts throughout the series) of the first volume, Kawana finds her worldview challenged in several ways: that her new coworker, the boy she had a crush on in high school, now uses a wheelchair; that his experiences at restaurants and coffee shops are dramatically different from her own; and that his SCI makes him more prone to specific types of medical issues than she is. Act 1 presents a lot of information and feels slightly rushed, though the author explains at the end of the first volume that Act 1 was initially a one-shot and only with publication was she able to continue fleshing out Kawana’s and Ayukawa’s story. This manga does not romanticise spinal cord injuries although it is a romantic manga. Kawana doesn't get hit by a bout of "ooh guy in a wheelchair, it's so cool". She sits down and thinks to herself "Oh shit, can I do this? Am I strong enough?" Ya know, realism and all that. Ugh. I love this. Gaffney, Sean (March 29, 2018). "Perfect World, Vol. 1". There's an important thing about relationships - it's that once you look past the beauty, the fun and the good times, there are difficulties. Your partner could have depression, alcoholism, have been sexuality assaulted or be in a wheelchair. It's how you deal with these difficulties that makes your connection all the more great and your time together so much more meaningful. Ressler, Karen (February 27, 2018). "Kodansha USA Licenses Starving Anonymous, Perfect World, Liar x Liar Manga Digitally". Anime News Network . Retrieved May 15, 2021. Slightly jarring time skips - realistically, the manga goes through A LOT of years. I'm not fully sure, but it covers a 5-6 year span or so through its entirety. a b Hodgkins, Crystalyn (April 20, 2019). "Rie Aruga's Perfect World Romance Manga Heads Toward 'Final Stage' ". In February 2018, Kodansha USA announced they licensed the series digitally. [6] At Anime Expo 2019, they announced a print release for the series. [7] The series is also licensed by M&C! in Indonesia. [8] Volume list [ edit ] No. Ayukawa is wheelchair-bound. But that's not all. He's a really cool guy. He gets way too excited about his architecture job and he's really friendly all round.

Karena Ayukawa, si tokoh cowok, main basket kursi roda, jadi keinget Real juga, tapi dari isi ceritanya lebih ke arah drama percintaan sih (

As a whole, Perfect World is not a bad read; however, it doesn't feel like a josei either. Instead, it is a blend between josei and shoujo. It doesn't commit itself to the grueling reality of dating someone with a disabilities, and instead leans more into the melodramatic romance. As many other have pointed out, it feels as if Perfect World doesn't exactly know what it is trying to be. Is it a shoujo? or a josei? Is it cutesy? Or is it more realistic? Because the author themselves doesn't know, it can be hard to get truly invested into the writing and characters. I admit fully to not being a huge fan of shojo, josei, or romance manga, but Perfect World is an engaging read – Kawana’s and Ayukawa’s work-related struggles resonate very universally, and their relationships with family, friends, and community are also particularly resonant.

A live-action TV Drama adaptation was announced on January 30, 2019. It was directed by Keiichirō Shiraki, written by Mayumi Nakatani, and Tori Matsuzaka and Mizuki Yamamoto performed the leads. It aired on Fuji TV and Kansai TV starting on April 16, 2019. [38] [39] It ran for ten episodes. [40] Reception [ edit ]I am also happy, well if you want to call it that, that we not only see Tsugumi's perspective, but also Itsuki's. We see him not being able to sleep due to the pain in his legs (phantom limb), we see him hurting. But we also see him fall in love with Tsugumi. Overall, I will be continuing reading this series and I would recommend it, albeit with some caveats. Pineda, Rafael Antonio (May 27, 2017). "Perfect World Romance Manga Gets Live-Action Film". Hong Kong-based film distributor Infinity was originally set to release the movie in the region in October 2018, [36] however, Hong Kong-based film distributor Neofilms released it instead. It opened in theaters there on November 1, 2018. [37] TV Drama [ edit ]
