the reason why i like this poetry so much is that it does just that - takes you on a journey so unique that you experience the poems like no other. Finding Dotty encourages imagination and creativity in children of all ages, taking the everyday and breathing life into it! I enjoyed the story telling with the Norse mythology and the only bad part about this book was that it ended!

Kara is a very strong main character and even though she is morally gray, it’s certainly done in a way where you can understand why she does what she does. My heart breaks for the things she’s been through and trauma she’s had to over come but her writing and the way she heals every part of herself including her inner child is beautiful. i loved how the poems were categorised - the hurting and the healing were both incredibly emotional and heartfelt in different ways, but i felt so strongly towards the both of them. The poetry in this book was very well written and emotionally charged as I could feel it when I read it.There were several passages that made my breath catch in my throat and wonder if she and I had lived such similar lives, that she was writing my story, as well. By sharing her lived experiences, she strives to deeply connect with her readers and remind them that they are not in this alone. You really feel the grief from her experiences almost a This is a gorgeous debut collection full of poems that I can’t describe other than “real” and “raw” This collection really moved me and that’s a hard thing to do lately at this point in my life.
